Nog steeds #Saharastof in de lucht.

Ik zal de opklaringen hier jouw kant opblazen! Een blauwe lucht krijg je niet, want er is nog heel veel Saharastof.

🔊 Geluid aan! Gisteravond laat zat naast ons huis een bosuil te roepen: hij hield dit ongeveer een uur lang vol. Bijzonder om van zo dichtbij te aanschouwen, zeker met het maanlicht erbij... 🦉

Ik zit in Overijssel waar het al de hele dag 'zonnig' is, dat wil zeggen soms dunne wolkenvelden, soms alleen wat cirrus maar heel veel stof :)

Komt mooi overeen met deze satellietfoto van eerder vanmiddag. Groen ligt onder de bewolking.

Leuke vraag! Ik zal het eens nazoeken. Op het noordelijk halfrond zijn er alleen ijskernen van Groenland. Qua luchtstromen zal het voor Saharastof lastig zijn Groenland te bereiken. Bekend is wel dat er stof van iJslandse vulkanen in kernen is gevonden.

Het stof zit inmiddels veel noordelijker.

Looking very impressive from orbit. The low sunangle enhanced the visual effect. On the ground here the sun is shining bright but pale.

Het stof komt pas met regen naar beneden. Geen regen voorlopig en dan is dat stof overgewaaid.

Het ziet er van bovenaf nog indrukwekkender uit dan vanaf de grond.

Een fletse lucht vandaag door stof uit de Sahara dat op enige kilometers hoogte over drijft.
