Don't let them take away our rights behind closed doors The EHRC's proposed Code of Practice would devastate trans+ lives and put everybody at risk. This trans bathroom ban is set to become law with no debate, no scrutiny and no vote in Parliament. We have to act now.
The EHRC – the body which is meant to protect our human rights – is proposing guidance which would turn the Equality Act into a bathroom ban. If this becomes law, it would force trans people out of public life.
And terrifyingly - this is all happening behind closed doors 🧵

WHAT IS A MASS LOBBY? A mass lobby is when a group of people contact their MP or contact members of the House of Lords and arrange to meet them in parliament on the same day and at the same time. It's a great way of making it clear to parliamentarians that their constituents (or in the case of the House of Lords, UK citizens) are passionate about an issue, and is an effective way of encouraging them to take action. WE WILL BE RELEASING INFORMATION PACKS

The Equalities and Human Rights Commission has produced a draft code of guidance to the Equality Act that - if implemented - will have a devastating impact on the day to day lives of trans+ people in the UK, excluding them from settings ranging from specialist support services to gym changing rooms and toilets. In 1890, the X and Y chromosomes were discovered. It was found that the men who were tested had 46 chromosomes, including an X and a Y, while women who were tested also had 46 chromosomes, including 2 X chromosomes.
So obviously the conclusion was that the Y chromosome defined masculinity.
