Using Claude Code to reorganize and reformat my website (built with Quarto), big fan
Iβve been bad about consistently posting on here, this will be the start of me changing that.
I got Pokemon FireRed yesterday it feels the same as it did when I was a kid, if youβre a fan of the series youβll have a blast!
Picked up chriskornaros.dev today. Bulking up the website with cooking recipes from my non-professional content (and personal favorites), as well as a Python deep dive, finally finishing my Docker guide, and blogs
Thoughts on Plane after using it in January:
- Overall, covers the basics that Iβm used to with other tools
- Nice structure, but heading a diff direction than current PM tools
- Not enough flexibility with templates/automation
My productivity is definitely up, for content it is great. Iβm a fan
Plane is all setup now, took me a bit to figure out, but their team had some helpful tips. Just need to setup some future cycles and repos.
I will probably do a write up and share my boards publically sometime around March, really enjoying the productivity this year
New Yearβs Resolution this year is to just maintain my good habits from last year and improve on them. So far, Iβve setup Plane to track all of the things Iβm working on: content, side projects, learning, etc.
This year is off to a solid start

Shoutout to Oura (the smart ring company). Iβve had mine since the beginning of 2025, but Iβve had huge battery degradation issues (went from 5-6 days on a full charge to less than 2). I posted to Reddit, got an answer in 5 minutes, used their chatbot and my replacement was approved.
10/10 support
This is such a strange data point, because this should be glaringly obvious to a ST coach. Especially the backing up, since that only accomplishes reducing space available to the returnerβ¦ I would love to have this explained from a coaching POV/at least what the intent is, since it isnβt working
Great read!

I also highly recommend using the chat based LLM tools as a pair programmer. I really enjoy the workflow of bouncing off ideas and then implementing, or using that as a basis for where I really need to go
Had it running in a minute or so on just one market, ~1-2 million rows. Ran it with all markets and it was hitting memory limits and failing. Used Deep Research to pull this apart and find areas for optimization. Now, full dataset was used to build the table in ~45 seconds.
Optimization feels good
Iβve been working on a C-Suite high priority ask recently. About the last 3.5 weeks straight of nothing but this.
Taking a table in Snowflake with ~90 million rows, doing some drastic transformations/reordering of timestamps + metrics based off those and historical performance.
Was going to recommend the Billy, itβs great for the price
Canβt wait to see the progress, sounds pretty cool
What are you hoping to use your lab for? General selfhosting, or more specific use cases/projects?
Superman is great, worth it to see in imax, in my opinion.
Gunn definitely has a clear style to his superhero features and it shows (in a great way) with Superman and the filmβs aesthetics
The #dataBS (Data Behind the Scenes) Conference Call for speakers is out! We're gonna do this!!
All online, single track, free to attend. Come talk about your messy experiences doing data stuff. At work, personal projects, whatever. A space to commiserate about nerdy things!

Illustration of a towering monolith with "1T" engraved on it, symbolizing the Internet Archive's milestone of archiving 1 trillion web pages. The monolith stands against a cosmic backdrop with a glowing light behind it, evoking a sense of scale and wonder. The Internet Archive logo appears in the lower left corner.
This October, the Internet Archiveβs Wayback Machine is projected to hit a once-in-a-generation milestone: 1 trillion web pages archived.
Weβll be commemorating this historic achievement on October 22 with a global celebration β‘οΈ blog.archive.org/2025/07/01/w...

I will check this out, thank you!!
As an analytics engineer who really enjoys data and the entire technical architecture. Are there any good public databases or open questions that could be a good starting point?
I love learning and doing data science outside of work, Iβm curious on how to get started with the field
Great read, Derek Goat does it again π«‘
Israel told citizens to turn off security cameras to prevent Iran from hacking and spying on troop movements or to adjust missile strikes
It did the same after the October 7 attack.
Ukraine has been telling the same to its citizens for 3 years.
