This comes more from a professional writer standpoint than a reader standpoint. I love whimsy! I'm am all about story gimmes. But given my inbox, children seem way more open about fun for story's sake than adults do, and I'm curious how POV plays into that.
As someone who'd want to take it rather than teach it, I'd be interested in the role "what if" plays in POV. It *seems* to me the whimsy inherent in middle grade POV allows for more flexibility, because it doesn't have to adhere to reality in the same way adult fiction is expected to.
Apologies in general to people with marshmallow teeth, generally speaking I try not to judge on appearances.
I do not generally consume this man's content, but saw a clip of Beast Games and kinda reeled back in primal revulsion at his other-worldly grin.
I don't know how to ask this in a way that doesn't sound like a joke, but, why do MrBeast's teeth look like they're made of marshmallows?
The Gaslighting of America continues, with Karoline Leavitt declaring that the USA had nothing to do with the bombing of the Minab school that killed 150+ elementary students. Satellite imagery shows SEVEN strikes on buildings with penetration marks matching those typical of American JDAM bombs.
Grammarly's presentation of something they call Expert Review, including my name (plus Stephen King's, plus Mary Norris's), though to be sure I've never been contacted by Grammarly, much less compensated.
What in the absolute fuck is this.
The only time I've ever wanted to gatekeep "y'all" was when someone tried to use it as a second-person singular. It was so weird.
Reminder, fellow Arkansans, today is voting day for primaries and local elections! Polling stations are open until 7:30pm!

The world is on fire, but at least there are still books to look forward to.
It's political fantasy with secret identities and a crunchy magic system! There are dueling revolutions jockeying for supremacy, each purporting to have the same deposed ruler at its helm.
The cover of the novel, featuring a silver haired man with a purple background that features gold and orange highlights.
Just finished reading The Revenant of Surolifia by @florencechien.com last night, and let me tell you guys, it's a banger.
The question that very easily blows up all this double-talk is: βWould it be an act of war if another country did this to us?β Because OF COURSE it would.
This obviously very stupid but is it also smart? Weβll talk to some liars after this break.
Honestly, the "this is a distraction" people need to gtfo. The rest of us can hold more than one idea in our head at a time, and so can this terrible administration.
He might not see my Bluesky post telling him I think supporting this illegal war is an impeachable offense, but he'll get my freaking email. Contact your reps! Even your smug-ass Republican reps.
Hey Tom Cotton, I'm an Arkansan. Fuck you.
He took $10 billion from the US taxpayer to set up a βBoard of Peaceβ
Heβs bombed 8 countries.
Heβs presided over the killing of American citizens by ICE.
Heβs given billions to DHS despite a record number of deaths in the camps
Now heβs started war in the Middle East.
Our president continues to be a toddler with a gun on the world stage.
I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.
We killed 85 schoolgirls. We are not the good guys.
Oh, hell. Not another war
Which I am very proud of.
This sounds like a joke, but this is my Friday night.
My spouse with a PhD spent twenty minutes describing the real-world applications of advanced math and imaginary numbers to me, but also accidentally said triangle when he meant rectangle, so, you know, we all have our faults.
Today I learned red-bellied woodpeckers lick other birds to assert dominance.

Mtg buster sword card, number 0255. It is an equipment artifact that gives a creature+3/+2, and lets you draw a card and play one from your hand for free when the equiped creature deals damage to a player.
Final Fantasy MTG booster packs continue to be good to me.
