If you voted for Trump, this is on you.
If you voted third party, this is on you.
If you chose not to vote at all, this is on you.
Your reasons are irrelevant.

@jelaniya.bsky.social Dr. Cobb! My name is Hailey and I am part of a local civics group in Cleveland. Last year I shared your teachings to the group when I saw you interviewed by Chris Hayes! docs.google.com/drawings/d/1...
"They say they're coming to save us from some evil? They're talking about our neighbors who take care of us ... Alex was murdered while he was helping. Mr Rogers said look for the helpers, & right now the helpers have a target on our forehead ... Mr Rogers would be here right now too, so I'm here."

@jbf1755.bsky.social @hcrichardson.bsky.social don't know if this thumbnail was on purpose, but yes, this is exactly how i feel.
A reverse Hallmark movie wherein the girl gives up the spirit of Christmas for the big city, a 401K and stock options that puts her in the top 1%.
Food for thought that I wanted to share.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I highly recommend the movie.

I think this happens a lot in work and life -- it's so easy to not see solutions while you're in the middle of a problem. Not because you're not smart or incapable, it's simply human nature to sometimes not see things, particularly if something is happening to you in that moment.
I found this experience so interesting in that to me the solution was obvious but to them it didn't occur to them.
At that point the movie was starting, the theatre was now dark, and they were split up into their different seats. Sporadically throughout the movie they would take turns bringing the popcorn to each other.
The father had the popcorn bag (one for the entire family), and the mother realized she and the daughter wouldn't have the popcorn with them.
I realized what they could do was get an empty popcorn bag from concessions and then split the popcorn between the two of them with their second bag.
An intriguing (and translatable) experience I recently had involving the new Wicked: For Good movie 🍿👇
We were almost through the trailers. A family came in last-minute but couldn't find four seats together -- there were only two pairs of seats apart from each other, meaning they'd be split up.
Just watched The Sounds of Music.
Can you believe,
1) She starred in Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music in back-to-back consecutive years ('64, '65).
2) Just read about the loss of her voice. Oy, what heartbreak.

Yesterday at the farmer’s market I saw a vendor quietly give food to someone whose EBT (SNAP) card didn’t have enough money on it.
People helping people because the president and his administration refuse to.
Even when court-ordered.
There is not one face of the Democratic Party. Tonight proved there are many faces, but each with a commitment to fight back against the reckless failure of the Trump regime and actually serve people.
Thank goodness.
A New Yorker cover shouldn’t make me feel like this, but here it is, making me feel like this
Good things are possible and we don’t have to settle.
You know what tonight proves more than anything else? Local elections matter.
Local. Elections. Matter.
We're all going to write pieces about what you can learn from tonight but it's actually pretty simple: The frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
This weekend I read 200 pages of the first book of the Wicked series, plus noted down new vocab words.
It's amazing how much reading you can get done in even a few undistracted hours.
Baseball, like everything else in the US, would be way more boring without any foreign-born people.
This alone is disqualifying. If this schmuck is gonna LEAVE THE CITY if he loses, he doesn't love the city enough to deserve to win.
This time last week I was sitting front row, dead center box seat at the MET Opera House.
I'm not a spontaneous person and this was an impromptu trip for me.
Lesson: It is very important that you do things during your time here on Earth. Be responsible but yes, go do the thing.
One danger of 47 is that it's very , very important for service members to be able to confidently take orders from their Commander-in-chief.
47 makes this impossible to do so.
"...once the armed services are paid by the oligarchs, they become a private militia, and we no longer have a country."

@hcrichardson.bsky.social made an astute observation that all these decorating-type tasks seem to be ways to keep him happy and distracted and out of the way so the real puppeteers can do their thing behind the scenes.
Like giving a toddler a coloring book so the parent can get work done.
ingenious idea for a series
