Wrong nationality. The Norwegians have lutefisk—but I’m pretty sure that doesn’t explode either.

UFF DA!
There goes the price of Danish butter cookies.
Not listen to false teachers and prophets. Realize that he has no moral standing nor any heart....and kick him out of the temple.
Cutting SNAP benefits would do that, yeah.
Miracles do happen. This is my copy of the March 1962 Digital Modules handbook. #dec

3. Speakers aren’t bought off the shelf. They’re built.
4. Antennas abound. Shortwave, FM, TV…name it and there was a chance of it having an external antenna.
5. Radios, too. Some of them were mine!
6. HP vs. TI calculators. This was a HP household. (IYKYK)
Some realizations that I had after being in the “normal” world after growing up in an engineer’s house:
1. Electromagnets aren’t generally toys. Still my favorite one, though.
2. A custom built closed circuit cable TV system that pulled OTA TV from one of several antennas and included a single…
Somehow, a graphing calculator from 2004, the TI-84, is a $140 at my local Walmart. The newer edition with Python was $100.
This is bonkers.
As slow as they go!
Ack! I have been looking for that for *years*.
I know what to do now, I think.
So, another minor issue is that the macro1 cross-assembler doesn't have the PDP-1D's instructions. I have been working on adding those instructions into it. I *think* I have gotten TAD to work.
Oh my goodness. This is great!
*zipped MIT folder on Bitsavers
And no, Midas in the TX-0 folder in the PDP-1 files on Bitsavers is specifically for TX-0. I tried. And the source for PDP-1 Midas is missing about half of it.
Number 2 occurred to me when writing code in Expensive Typewriter. It’s not producing the correct instructions and pass 2 seems…weird. It’s not printing out titles correctly.
Some things about digging through the PDP-1 assembler problem:
1. I don’t have BBN’s bespoke version of Midas for Exec-III.
2. The Macro 1962 paper tape image in the MIT seems to be borked.
3. There is a listing of an older version of Macro (and FLINT/FRAP) in the Bitsavers PDFs.
It's from Exec-III's manual for the Information Storage And Retrieval System, pg. 15.
*13/25
Now digging through the fragments of PDP-1's Midas from Bitsavers in Expensive Typewriter and it appears to be uncompiled. I don't think it's complete (11 out of 25 parts, apparently), but it appears to be the originating version from BBN.

There was no subreddit for the PDP-1 so I made one.
A demonstration of an early database program called ISRDES for the PDP-1. It has the message“TRY ME” as a response for an invalid input.
Feeling feisty, PDP-1?
PDP-1, not PDP-6/10, related stuff for once.

Good catch. Weren’t they about supposed transparency?
The days of hope and grace seem like they’re gone for the time being. I just hope that they come back.
