As the stairway dissipates, the air thickens, is caustic, tightening your throat and restricting your breath with the acidic fumes. You cough and tears of blood drip from the sides of your mouth. The heavy smoke makes way and you see a swamp of poison. Large mushrooms overhang pools of sickly green, a mucus thick soup of diseased vapour. The ground oozes under your step, and the muck stains your boots, beginning to corrode and steam. From these pools, the hands of drowned giants stretch out and, through necrotic galvanism, flex and grasp at nothing, as disease-heavy dragonflies flit between their foul fingers. At the far end of this chamber of sickness, the alchemical station of a mad god, with tinctures and ointments fashioned from the pools of disease in which they have drowned titans. Bloody hell. At the far end of the chamber, light begins to shimmer in the jaundiced yellow shade of pus and vomit.___________________________________________________________This map is a commission. Columns reach up and support the roof, high in the shadows. You can see, hanging from the vaulted ceiling, inverted spires hanging like predatorial teeth. Pews lead to the apse. A candelabra, bright with white flame, has been placed in front of a brass alter and the flames refract infinitely. On top of the alter, two burning braziers stand sentinel either side of a large book that lays open on top of the alter.'

VTT Batllemap depiction a once ornate, now derelict room, featuring a broken table and chair, broken statues and tattered books scattered around a bookcase in the back. The room is lit up by lazy afternoon light filtering through a grand window. 'The keep of the last paladin of the gods lies in front of you. The disarray and disorder speak of an indifference to the collapse and crumble of the empire you have destroyed. Sadness gently flows down the stone walls of the keep, coating the shattered statues to the gods the paladin once served. Carpeting, once weaved by those anointed with divine inspiration by the gods themselves, now lies torn and mildewed under your feet. You step forward into the chamber and stand in the dying light of a disappearing sun. The muted colours of the stained glass that stands behind you falls on the floor in dull russet and a cobalt that foreshadows the coming darkness. The pattern that shadows on the floor is that of a scorpion, a huge image of armour and lethality, of defence and resistance. You know where you are. This scorpion is the legendary heraldic symbol of Sir Timothy, a paladin in life whose virtue, honesty and generosity lead to his assentation. Sir Timothy is the last paladin of the gods - the gods you have assassinated. Ah, bollocks.'
