The Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, San Diego looks small from the outside, but the meandering pathways go on and on. Super beautiful and serene.

In 1999, when SyQuest went bankrupt and all 2,200 employees including me were out of a job, the bankruptcy judge contacted me (just a lowly inside sales rep) to come back to work and sell the remaining inventory. I was the Interim CEO for 6 months in an almost empty building complex.
Yes! Alstroemerias last about 2 weeks in a vase! The best value in the flower shop.
Was in line for the Jungle Cruise about 10 years ago and a CM overheard that it was my birthday. Gave me a Disneyland Happy Birthday button to wear. For the rest of the day, whenever weβd be in line for some ride, theyβd put my family at the very front of the line. Now that was a great day!

Always thought phasers should have a tickle setting.
Yes! I had all his albums on cassette and listened to them constantly in my car. I knew every word. Still do. Realized the genius of his material. Thought it would be easy to write a few jokes but it took 6 months to fill two pages. I should dig his letter back to me out of my garage.
Steve Martin. About 1981. I wrote him a letter and he wrote back.
Yes, indeed.
@moltz.bsky.social Macalope: "In the mean time, the Macalopeβs going to look forward to the more concrete products Apple might ship."
I guess it really will be mean time then, but I'm thinking the Macalope meant meantime. Can't help myself, sorry.

Chance the Dog says, βLikewise.β
Mine was an UNCLE briefcase that sprung open into a rifle when you pressed the latch. The stock swung into place and the barrel popped out the side and you instantly had a rifle cap gun.
Donβt ask me. I wanted to be an accountant but my career counselor said, βThereβs no accounting for Tays.β
And I liked the references to Bullitt. Hemsworth drives the same model car the bad guys drove in Bullitt.
And I like the title not referencing what you think.
Enjoyed Crime 101. Always entertaining. I liked how the 3 leads, Chris Hemsworth - thief, Halle Berry - insurance broker, and Mark Ruffalo - LA cop, are all disaffected. Any other movie it would be just one. Hemsworth wants to pull one last Heist. Of course thereβs pleasant twist at the end.

In the meantime, have a donut or two.

I once had my picture taken with Eisenhower.

βIt is time to acknowledge what has become tragically obvious: the Trump administration is operating as a massive criminal enterprise.β
This absolutely captures it. Instead of "Trump Administration," we should say "Trump Syndicate."

GLENN and MIGNON! Yes, I'm shouting because it's my two favorites together! This will be good. I shall listen tonight. Thank you both.

So now either I have to fly from San Diego to SF (on Friday the 13th), or is it possible you will be appearing at a San Diego or Orange County area bookstore anytime soon? I don't see anything for San Diego or Orange County (yet) on your book tour dates. www.applefirst50.com Thank you! You rock!
@davidpogue.bsky.social DAVID!! My daughter, who works on campus at Stanford (where she was born - isn't that weird?) and has a membership at Kepler's, sends me this, which is about the coolest thing ever. (1/2)
Saw Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. Saw an 8 a.m. showing on the day after it opened. Stood in a huge long line and happened to be next to actress Joyce Bulifant - bubbly as ever. Everything about that day made a huge impression on me.
