Did you whip put Tengu Format at your wedding!? Good taste.
can you even imagine spending dozens of hours of your life programming a dueling ai script so players can have something interactive to test against, then at the end of all of that you add maxx c to the deck
It's finally up--my vlog from Yu-Gi-Oh's 300th YCS in Richmond. An exhausting week of highs and lows, and new ways to enjoy this great game. It's given me a lot to think about.

Well I think now you have to do Googly-Eyes Drum Dragon.
I apologize for how long it's taking to finish the YCS Richmond vlog! It's my biggest tournament vlog so far. Lots to juggle narratively that I'm trying to get just right.
reserving a special place in the shadow realm for the legions of online yugioh players who could be using any deck in the game, yet choose to play stall/burn
Every time I post a Mimighoul video, I lose another bunch of subscribers--more than when I post silly Nintendo stuff that has *nothing* to do with Yugioh. Y'all are weird.
For like two years everything was just some mess of floodgates, Scythe locks, and Halq combos...
I'm ready for a new ban list. I'm ready for a format in which the majority of my matches are not against Radiant Typhoon.
Regional tomorrow, after last week's championship. Am I tired? Yes. Am I busy and injured? Yes. But I also just spent $200 on Yugioh cards for a video so I should try to get more use out of them.
what a missed opportunity
(The Jaden & Alexis are on Instagram as @Onebraincell_twocosplayers and it was so wonderful to see them again!)
On the plane home from YCS Richmond I got seated next to a fellow duelist (and fan!). We could not shut up about our decks and our experiences. The flight really ...flew by ๐
Duelists, talk to each other! Yugioh is the greatest game ever made and it gives us all so many stories to bond over.
Another YCS, another few cosplays! I think we're gaining steam. It's a fun way to spread energy and smiles--just don't expect an easy win, or you'll be in for a rough match!
Who's helping me pack up the post-YCS mess? (That Dragonmaid mat is going to the highest bidder to finance my Branded addiction.)
should've known I wasn't getting a second date...
@mbtyugioh.bsky.social Don't think I didn't notice you try to approach me at the YCS but turn away because I was already talking to... a random player's girlfriend about her heated lunchbox. You gotta work up the courage to do some networking at these events!
Update: got another judge call and it was correct. The tides have turned. But it was vs Radiant Typhoon and I never saw Purulia sooooo
Have you ever felt the grip of despair until you've activated lunalight black sheep only to find that you left polymerization in the deck box
In recent years I have received no fewer incorrect judge calls than correct ones. Just saying.
In a ridiculous display of beginner's luck, I started my first IRL Domain Format duel by putting over 50,000 damage on the board.
It's a silly multiplayer format run by people who really care about community (and who bring spare decks if you need one!) -

Another thing that sucks is that, in terms of gameplay, this was actually a great match and really engaging.
Reposted that as an actual thread ๐
So it's an awkward 3-2-drop for Sapphire Surprise today. I hope I don't get the short end of the stick in some side events again! Then I'll try to get a game with the Domain Format crew, because they really love playing Yugioh!
Coming from a PR perspective... Konami's event management can be painfully amateur. I enjoy attending YCSes not because of them, but in spite of them.
I go for the community--for the fans who work hard to make this game fun and welcoming when Konami can't be bothered.
The new time rule doesn't come up often, but when it does, it makes for a hostile, miserable, and unfair experience. The old rules were problematic too, but this is NOT an acceptable solution.
This is Konami making event management easier for themselves, at steep cost of the attendees' experience.
Because he was still able to play cards during that time, this was completely legal under the new rule.
This is one of the situations I warned about in my analysis video: that a spiteful player can now override the actual gameplay turn someone's fair win into a devastating loss.
*thread about Yugioh's time rules*
A VSK9 opponent was angry that I kept pulling out new engines to play through his full board. Despite having no outs for my Towers bosses and no chance of winning the match, he stalled for 15 minutes to turn my 2-0 into a double loss.
2-2 at Richmond so far. When I'm not making fatal misplays or forgetting what engines I sided out, I've been making some really masterful plays. Please believe me.
I didn't see you here Friday so I assumed you were off giving birth again
