You didn't "fail" to make an unworkable situation work. It was not on you to make the unworkable work. You should not have been put in the position of believing that it was your job to make the unworkable work. You don't deserve to be punished for the unworkable not working.

There are 435 members of the House, 100 in the Senate. Less than a handful are worth a damn, and even that's debatable. You think that happened on accident? That every person to get into office just happens to suck ass, out of a country of 348M people? This is what the system is designed to produce.

Even now I see “why should voters concern themselves with what happens over there, they’re fighting an ancient blah blah” and like man, you should have learned this 20 years ago. Just cuz Obama gooned to merc’ing hospitals does not mean foreign policy is no longer primary.

It frustrates me when liberals my age minimize or trivialize foreign policy concerns, or treat them as a distinct set of issues that are separate and matter less than domestic ones. Our political awakening was during the GWOT! Iraq and the PATRIOT Act were some of our inciting moments.

It's really clear to me that pretty much everyone professionally involved in politics regards the right and far right as fundamentally legitimate and authoratative in a way the left and even centre aren't.

I'm not saying don't use a VPN if you understand your use case or enjoy some of the side benefits. Go for it. I'm just kind of annoyed by the way they are marketed right now as some kind of magic bullet that hides everything you do and protects you from the bad guys.
