Tonverk might be worth a go if they add some new machines with sample stretching/slicing etc

If youβve used Digitakt itβs so easy to sample and assign. The OT method is quite strange in comparison
I think thatβs what makes people struggle sometimes is that some of the buttons have two different functions depending if youβre in record mode or not. Sometimes youβre wondering where the fuck that menu has gone to
Itβs pretty straightforward once you get into it. Just have to use parts/slices/scenes etc for variation
Iβve been writing a live set for a gig later in the year and doing it only on the Octatrack. Time moves at a different speed when you use that machine.
Nasty
I really miss Transform Multiply from the Emu sampler but they take up space I donβt have. Elektron have made sampling far too easy tho
And youβve not even eaten any yet
Beavis and Butthead
I liked my one from Lidl that shamed me about how many brownies i had bought from their bakery section
Ah Ken Downie was someone Iβd have loved to meet. His contributions to Black Dog were the meaningful ones to me. The offshoots and current grift are unlistenable to me. A sad loss
I have a lot more fx machines than I do sends on my desk. Could be interesting to have a chain of fx machines, much like guitarists do with pedals. That or just a load of noise
Kinda intrigued by this one also. Possibly just a slight upgrade on the se70 but decent prices www.boss.info/uk/products/...
Itβs not quite as configurable as it claims to be but for the price you can grab one for itβs worth it.
The Digitech Quad is a bit βehβ to program but when you suss it out you can get some real dreamy washy stuff out of it. The compressor is kinda useless and no distortions to speak of but built in lfos for certain parameters is kinda fun to play with
This was the one! Could do some crazy stuff with the hold button and the different delay time buttons
Itβs handy to have the different variations, triplet etc so you can just dial in the number. I used to have this RAK Digital Delay that you could only do by ear, and it had this super 3d sound. Wish I still had that. Have never even found one for sale.
For some reason I like the programming on these units. Itβs quite simple. Just a lot of button taps! The multi tap delay is really great, just have to get a delay calculator off google
Sppppppp thismachineisbroken.bandcamp.com/album/return...
It also has an app that connects by Bluetooth that makes editing it very easy
I also have a liking for 90βs effects machine. I have the SE-70 and got a Sony HR-MP5 recently (which has to be switched on and off a couple of times to work properly). I did buy this thing recently tho for less than Β£40 and itβs really good
Agh
And you can go make a cup of tea while you wait for the floppies to load. Win/win
I thought thatβs what the last release was
Iβm tortured by that βmusicβ and the way they dance to it. Letβs just all agree itβs horrible and move on
I donβt use it very often but if you turn off quantisation itβs pretty good for layering up noise stuff with mismatched rhythms as the onboard effects and automation can go very deep.
Watched first ep last night, was underwhelmed. Itβs hard when they make some of the characters so unlikeable.
Itβs always the old friends that are first to go
