News article clipping: Some NIH Scientists Say Ending Union Recognition Undermines Bhattacharya’s Early-Career Push. By Maaisha Osman / March 5, 2026 at 4:09 PM.
The National Institutes of Health is ending recognition of a union representing early-career scientists, a move some
agency employees say undermines Director Jay Bhattacharya’s stated goal of supporting researchers beginning their scientific careers.
In an email sent Monday (March 2) by NIH’s Office of Human Resources and reviewed by Inside Health Policy, the agency said it will no longer recognize NIH Fellows United, which represents more than 5,000 NIH scientists, about 34% of whom are visiting international fellows. NIH Fellows United, part of the United Auto Workers (UAW Local 2750), represents early-career researchers in the National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Program, including postbaccalaureate, predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers, as well as clinical, research and visiting fellows. The group organizes thousands of scientists working across NIH labs as part of the agency’s internal research enterprise.
I agree!

Twenty percent of ppl with measles will end up hospitalized. And we have no treatment for it.
Get vaccinated if you're able. Make sure you've got some immunity if your doctor will run your titers. If you're unsure if you were vaccinated, or have an older vaxx consider getting a booster.

1. A #measles & #flu update.
We're only 9 weeks into the year & the total confirmed measles cases so far puts makes 2026 the second worst year for measles in the past 34 years.
The worst year was last year. But in merely 9 weeks, 2026 has recorded 56% of the entire 2025 total.
Gonna be a bad year.

Markwayne Mullin, the new DHS Secretary, friends.
If he’ll blatantly lie and verbally abuse a government scientist **at a televised Congressional hearing**, just imagine what he’ll do behind closed doors.

Two amaryllis flowers at the top of a long thin stem against a green wall. The petals are reddish streaked with white. Some petals fade to white at the tips.
🌱 Celebrating that my amaryllis have decided to bloom. Never a certain occurrence with my crew. There are a handful more outside with flower spikes. This one is 'La Paz.' #FlowersOnFriday

I encountered this Bursaria truncatella after it "inhaled" a Paramecium. I was hoping to see the Paramecium get sealed into a vacuole, but instead it finally managed to escape! My students have nicknamed Bursaria "Micro Roomba." LOL

Why Target is the Center of an ICE-Out Campaign in Minnesota - Workday Magazine
ICE Out of MN, a coalition of unions, worker centers, and community organizations, is putting pressure on Minnesota’s corporations that stayed silent as thousands of federal immigration agents wreaked...
Target has allowed ICE to abduct its workers and use its property for staging. Now Minnesota organizers are building a pressure campaign against the company. "There is no neutral here," says labor organizer Veronica Mendez Moore. Vital reporting by Isabela Escalona.

they knew they could get away with it because they practiced all those times on the “narco-terrorist” boats, where they also killed the survivors, and nobody sent them to The Hague about it so they are running completely unchecked right now with full use of the arsenal. I do not know how this ends

I think they might have better luck spending two thousand dollars holding a press conference where they detail who made the key decisions to collaborate with the Trump administration, how and when they were fired, and explaining what would stop that from happening again.
