GOP members of the committee represent AK, AL, IN, FL, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, OH, and SC.
Research universities and hospitals in those states need to be extra loud.
Grant pro here. It is way more expansive than even this. Tons of small businesses are subs or subs of subs of federal grants and contacts. The largest grantor of discretionary funds in the nation, by far, is DOT. Grants pay for food, education, health care, cops, crops, utilities improvements, etc.
