Cherry Plum, Blackthorn & Hawthorn flowers are all very similar and they flower in this order and in February/March, March/April and May (Hawthorn being the Mayflower) 🙂🌳

Who knows which tree flower makes an entrance first around here?

….& I am standing six feet away

The bond is made, & now both of the pair feel safe

And the excited chirp she makes when she finds & eats a raisin makes me cry

There is a female blackbird in our garden

She is underneath the bird feeder, which is where I left the raisins for Bert, & I can hear the pulse sound that blackbirds make to reassure each other that it remains safe

Bert the Bold is above her on the fence, riding shotgun….

HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS, THE OAK TREES ARE WAKING UP 🥳🤗🌳

Bert led his mini Bert’s to them and showed them how to eat 🙂🐦‍⬛

He doesn’t know his father Bert (absolutely convinced now) is no more

Shortly he will know that Bert is no longer here, because he continues to sing his melodies, & only more distant males respond

I am naming him Bert the Bold 🐦‍⬛

Our new inquisitive male Blackbird is very wary of other males being around our garden

He rarely lands on the lawn but watches the garden from high vantage points

But when I walk down the garden he flies down and lands close. That is not normal, unless he has been here before
