In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Magcargo cannot learn High Horsepower from TM, despite it's prevolved form, Slugma, being able to do so.
On this day, 3 years ago, Pokemon Legends: Arceus released worldwide on the Nintendo Switch. Taking place in vast Hisui region, the Sinnoh region of old, the game created a new style of play for the Pokemon franchise.
A sequel, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will release later this year.

On this day, 10 years ago, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire released worldwide on Nintendo 3DS.
As remakes of the Ruby and Sapphire GBA titles, they included enhanced gameplay elements including Mega Evolution and the Delta Episode. It released exactly 12 years after RS.

These games featured the Legendary Ho-oh in Pokemon Gold and Lugia in Pokemon Silver on the covers.
On this day 25 years ago, Pokemon Gold and Silver released for the GameBoy in Japan.
These titles, originally known as 'Pocket Monsters 2' would begin the second generation of Pokemon with 100 new Monsters in the Johto region. It debuted Magcargo as the best Fire-Type Pokemon.

On this day, five years ago, Pokemon Sword and Shield were released for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2019.
Featuring the vast Wild Area and battles focused on Dynamax, it was the start for what would be known as Generation 8 of the franchise.

One can jokingly come to the conclusion that Brilliant Diamond is the canonical title because Ramanas Park is referenced in PLA's Ramanas Island.
The Layout of Spear Pillar between Diamond/Brilliant Diamond, Pearl/Shining Pearl and Pokemon Platinum. Pokemon Platinum's design is unique, while Diamond and Pearl are essentially mirrored versions of one another. The remakes are based on the original appearance (Diamond's is the same as Brilliant Diamond's).
In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the player will see how the Temple of Sinnoh had become the modern day Spear Pillar. The layout is the same regardless of situation.
Because of circumstances, one could (humorously) come to the conclusion that Brilliant Diamond is the canonical title.
