Another incredible patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2!
The NVGs look so good, and I'm so thankful for the sustained effort of the team! ๐ฅณ

I played and 100%'d Abiotic Factor recently. It's a sci-fi survival horror game very similar to games like Half-Life and System Shock, but with the added bonus of content similar in nature to the SCP Foundation.
It's such an incredible game, and I *really* hope it gets the recognition it deserves!
I can't even believe some of the things I'm seeing, both in these notes as well as elsewhere. Huge, *huge* fixes and improvements, two new weapons, QoL improvements, and...around 700 GB of mod tools and assets!
Well done yet again, @gscgameworld.bsky.social! ๐ฅณ

Happy (late, I'm sorry) Juneteenth! ๐ฅณ
I've read little tidbits of what people are saying is gunna be in Patch 1.5 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and... ๐
2025 has been an awesome year for gaming so far, and work like this is definitely a big part of the reason why. ๐๐๐
Happy Pride Month! ๐ฅณ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
This image shows the square-shaped key art of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the left, with an Xbox Game Pass badge on the bottom left corner of the key art. The key art is the title in the top center, and below it is a flaming version of the Oblivion symbol (imagine an upside-down letter U with a flat bottom), with a fully-armored character in the center of the symbol holding a sword and a shield. To the right of the key art, there is the title of the game, 1000 out of 1000 next to the symbol for gamerscore (cosmetic points awarded for gaining achievements on Xbox), 60 next to a small trophy icon signifying 60 achievements unlocked, and finally, 100% signifying that all the achievements were unlocked.
This makes the third time I've gotten all the achievements for Oblivion. Once for the remaster, twice for the original. Such a classic! ๐ฅณ
Another heavy hitter of a patch, it seems! With each revision, the game gets even cooler. Can't wait to jump back into the Zone at some point here. ๐ฅณ
Thanks yet again for your hard work, @gscgameworld.bsky.social!

Another *huge* patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2! Gave it a quick read, and seems like even more excellent work. The studio is giving such a refreshing amount of care to this game and I appreciate all of it. ๐ฅณ
Thank you, @gscgameworld.bsky.social!

As for the bald spots, it's like there's a missing hair texture or something causing some of the hairstyles to look unreasonably thin, almost like a combover.
Aside from this, I've been having a lot of fun so far and I definitely recommend people try it, especially since it's on Game Pass Ultimate!
This is an image of a character I was creating in the video game 'Avowed'. The image is a neck-up shot of a fair-skinned, female-presenting humanoid with pointy ears, blue eyes, black hair, black eyeliner, and black lipstick. The hairstyle shown is the one I mentioned in this thread. It is one of many type-4 hairstyles available and is a short style of cornrows, which are a type of braid that is tight against the scalp. The lineup (which is meant to tidy the hairline) is extremely crooked, and the edges are almost nonexistent. I don't feel as though this hairstyle is acceptable in its current state, especially given how there is another style available that has a better lineup and better edges, but that style may not be what someone wants for their character. Unfortunately, this is not the only type-4 hairstyle in the game that feels like maybe not enough time was spent creating them.
While going through the hairstyles, for example, I noticed an abundance of bald spots, and this style in particular has an abysmal hairline. The lineup and edges are both indefensible, and I definitely think the hairstyles, this one especially, need a closer look post-launch.
Unfortunately, the character creator is very disappointing. I struggled to make a character I was happy with, and with how common appearance changes have become in games, having no way to change your appearance after creation is frustratingly outdated especially considering the above difficulty.
Something else that's interesting to note is the game also feels like a dungeon crawler in a way that I find hard to explain. The way the combat feels is *very* dungeon crawler-esque, and I really like that.
For clarity, it's not turn-based or anything like that, it just has a similar *feel* to it.
I also feel like there's something in the game that scratches a similar itch that a Bethesda Game Studios RPG would scratch, which is a high compliment coming from me as I *love* sandbox RPGs from Bethesda, and capturing some of that essence is definitely a good thing as far as the experience goes.
Started Avowed yesterday and it's a pretty neat adventure so far. It feels a lot like a CRPG, except you are playing real-time in first-/third-person.
Exploration is pretty sweet, combat is very punchy and satisfying, and the conversations can be fairly robust even when compared to some other RPGs.
All of this is to say that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 looks awesome (especially at night!), and I really appreciate the work you and any others have done to make it look as atmospheric as it does.
Thank you. ๐ซก
I've seen the ray-tracing mods for games like Half-Life and Doom, and even without touching the texture resolution or meshes, the changes in lighting *alone* help blend the past with the present and breathe new life into these classic experiences.
I think the bias is well-earned as the power that lighting has over an in-game environment *cannot* be overstated! ๐
For years I've believed that the evolution of lighting techniques and technology has been one of *the* most important driving factors in regards to visual improvements for games.
Also, I don't know if this was intentional or if it was just pure happenstance, but I think it's pretty funny that corpses show a movement speed of 0 when examined. I was caught off guard by this in the starting area and my first thought was how I was glad it was 0 or I'd be in big trouble. ๐
I'm only a few hours in and I'm completely blown away by the sheer depth of Baldur's Gate 3. It's *definitely* a cut above as far as D&D video games go, and if the beginning is any indication, it makes perfect sense that it won GOTY in 2023.
Thank you and well done, @larianstudios.com! ๐ฅณ
Another major patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2! I gave it a quick read and it seems like another big chunk of the primary complaints have been fixed, which is awesome! GSC Game World is doing such great work! ๐ฅณ

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is already such an awesome game and the most recent patch (1.0.1, with patch notes below) seems to have fixed and tweaked a lot of things for the better. I haven't gotten on yet to see for myself, but seems to be all good news!

I started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl a few days ago in preparation for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and I can't believe I never sat down and played these earlier.
SoC can be unstable and some parts are kinda frustrating, but so far I'm really liking it. Hoping the sequels are even better!
Just finished both main quests for Black Ops 6 Zombies and got the two early calling cards. As far as difficulty goes, Liberty Falls is not too bad, but Terminus was *so* hard. ๐ฉ
Proud of ourselves though. ๐ฅณ
