My early review of The Barbecue at No 9 by @jenniegauthor.bsky.social is live.
Now all I need to know is, when is book three coming out?

Here it is, my favourite reads of July-December, including my top fiction and non-fiction read of 2025 ๐ฅณ

My physical & mental health means I struggle to attend in-person book events, so I was thrilled to be invited to join a select group of bloggers and @jenniegauthor.bsky.social to celebrate her upcoming book, The Barbecue at No 9, out in Feb (FYI Jennie is an absolute delight - I love her ๐)
Oooooh enticing book post @jenniegauthor.bsky.social - I wonder what goodies are inside ๐
The List of Suspicious Things was a tough act to follow but by Jove she's done it! The Barbecue at No 9 by @jenniegauthor.bsky.social is just as perfect in every single way. You're gonna want this on your bookshelves come February. โญโญโญโญโญ
It is time...

I was getting withdrawal symptoms so I had to buy some more books.
When will the full program be announced? Getting excited already about it!
My last monthly wrap-up of 2024, and it's been a busy one (I had a Disney novella advent calendar which explains the high total).
I read 38 in total. 16 ARC, 1 gifted, 21 I owned. 20 adult fiction, 15 children/YA, 3 non-fiction. 9 were debuts, and 12 were five-star reads.
My first Christmas voucher haul...
All things considered, I'd say I was pretty restrained in my Black Friday book shopping ๐
November started off really slow, I couldn't get into any book. But it soon picked up and I read some fantastic books!
I read 26 in total. 13 were ARC, 1 was gifted & 12 I owned. 17 were adult fiction, 3 children/YA, 5 non-fiction, and 1 poetry. 4 were debuts.
2025 is shaping up to be a good year for pre-orders...
I have 32 books I want to read before the end of the year.
There are 38 days left in the year.
That equals 0.84 books a day for the rest of 2024.
Ambitious much? ๐
Thank you @canongate.co.uk for my copy of One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad.
This sounds like such a powerful book and very timely. I can't wait to read it.
Out in February.
Something a bit different for me tonight. I don't do horror generally but this sounded so unique that I'm giving it a go ๐ฑ
Can you find the hidden clues in these strange pictures and discover what connects them all?
๐Strange Pictures by Uketsu @pushkinpress.bsky.social out in January
There are some authors who I order without even checking what the book is about; Haruki Murakami is such an author.
๐The City and it's Uncertain Walls - published by Harvill Secker
This is an absolutely thrilling read. @annamazz.bsky.social has really embraced the thriller genre and it stands up to all I've read before. You all really need to get this on your 2025 reading list.
Notes on a Drowning, out in January @orionbooks.bsky.social
I might have bought one or two books today....
