Agreed. And honestly he’s not wrong for assuming that many (most?) Americans don’t know anything about other countries or world history.
@nurse-jen
I've been a nurse for 19 years so you can’t scare me. Gen X - late discovery donor-conceived person - Level I trauma OR - living with MS since 2002 - recovering English major - vegan - bread baker - hiker trash - diver down - proudly bi - go Red Sox!
Agreed. And honestly he’s not wrong for assuming that many (most?) Americans don’t know anything about other countries or world history.
The orthopedic surgery department at my hospital often hosts visiting residents from outside the US. The current resident is from Germany. When I asked him what part he said, “Nuremberg. Have you heard of it?”
I’m so ashamed of how ignorant the rest of the world thinks we are.
It’s the very least we can do
Do not do this. Do NOT do this. DO NOT DO THIS.
post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.
AND I’M HERE
TO REMIND YOU

One of the most hated men in baseball once upon a time.
DO IT. Do it do it do it. There will always be extra shifts. And there’s nothing sweeter than knowing you only have to work them on your terms.
During the seven months of inexplicable symptoms leading up to my MS diagnosis I was often told my symptoms were in my head. Oh the irony…
Oh God why is there carpeting in a room where large groups of people regularly gather to sweat and shed dead skin and aerosolize their saliva and drop crumbs of food and spill sugary drinks WHY
Yes sirree I gave this MS to myself
I’m genuinely looking forward to my Rituxan infusion on Friday. I’ll be in a hospital setting, but THEY give ME 50 of Benadryl IVP and a warm blanket and then I get to take a nap? Sounds like a dream come true tbh

First of all: Only five songs? FIVE measly songs from a career spanning six decades? This is an impossible task, @jeremysarna.bsky.social.
5. Make It Rain
(I want to believe / in the mercy of the world again)
4. Martha

The successful ones recognize that their god cannot help them here and that they’re basically new grads again. The really challenging ones have too much ego to humble themselves in the face of their learning needs and you really have to watch them like a hawk. Which they hate, of course.
My facility has a reassignment program for experienced RNs so lately I’ve been training people who’ve been nurses for at least a couple of years but have never stepped foot in an OR before. They all start out clearly thinking to themselves, “I’m an experienced nurse. How hard could this be really?”
Oh, I feel this so hard. The ones who don’t recognize what they don’t know have the potential to be so dangerous.
I’m so stressed out by my current trainee that I spent half my therapy appointment today talking about her! It’s SO hard.
All the recipes in Ken Forkish's book Flour Water Salt Yeast have timestamps. Also, basically all time management issues can be fixed by throwing the dough in the fridge overnight. You can even make it sound fancy by calling it an "extended cold proof."
Donald Trump proposes that the US take over Palestine and turn it into “The Riviera of the Middle East.”
If you didn’t vote in the presidential election because you thought Kamala Harris didn’t care about Palestine, please come get your boy.
Hello from the OR! Sponge counts are still very much a thing. Having to go through the trash when the count is off is also a thing and is one of my least favorite parts of the job.
I really thought this story was going to end with a ruptured AAA.
I had it ten years ago. I have never prayed so sincerely for sweet, merciful death.
It’s like a Megadyne and a heated mattress pad had a baby.
Meanwhile people are just shoveling Benadryl into them by the handful. “Meemaw couldn’t sleep!” Well, now Meemaw thinks she’s Spider-Man so well done.
Go home Dad, you’re drunk
