When a loved one goes missing, relatives can feel guilty simply for eating, says Charlie Shunick, whose sister was kidnapped. Shunick now helps others navigate a nightmare "nobody is prepared for." n.pr/3OCUZ2A

Hey.
Tell people when they do good job.
When you like the stuff they make.
When you like the characters theyβve created.
The stories theyβve told.
Nobody hears it as often as you think bc everyone thinks everyone hears it all the time.
Trust. They donβt.
Tell. Them.
Well, will be replacing the flannel sheets with regular cotten sheets, but still leaving the electric blanket on the bed - just in case. Have seen the first sight of Spring, here in southern New Mexico - road full of tumbleweedsβ¦
Yahoo has a piece on my Iranian adoptee friend who is in the removal process! Please share!! π₯

Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson has passed away at the age of 84. My thoughts are with his family.
I wanted to share this clip from his appearance on Sesame Street in 1971. His important words ring just as true today as they did back then.
So SC upcountry and German food equals liver mush (aka scrapple)! Donβt recall seeing in RH, but did in newberry and Charlotte .
So I had a mild case of flu this month (apparently wrong strain picked this year- it happens). Went to the Outlet Mall in El Paso, the DMV is hard at work at a new expressway in the north side of town, just south of Chaparral, NM. Expect to be through in 5 years or so.

Been "warm" over here on my part of the east side of the Tularosa Basin. Came close to freezing the other day, but not yet. Saw a video this AM of ICE handcuffing a small person (child?) in Alamogordo yesterday. One can tell it was yesterday by the clouds (!), no other info known for sure. Sad
FWIW "Lamb to the Slaughter" was based on a short story and adopted as a teleplay by its author, Roald Dahl. One of the few Hitchcock TV episodes that Hitchock actually directed. Dahl is best known these days for his children's books. Been filmed serval times. The episode is indeed a classic.
I have seen some spectacular Christmas lights in the past. A drive through a full village in a cottonfield in costal Georgia. The old Heritage USA, just south of Charlotte. I also knew someone who decorated big time and smiled saying the Power Co loved him. This LC location looks nice
I have lived my entire life with different folks, all of whom made a point of never decorating for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving - no exceptions for anything. Well except for the friends who kept them up year round. I do see folks turning the lights on before Thanksgiving this year.
* I always wanted to complain about modern times and say "now when I was a boy!" so I do. Not yet at the "rage at the night" stage yet though.
Good afternoon everyone. Been quiet here, but going out to eat tonight at LesCombs - as it's an anniversary - 23 years. I'm sure I will suffer from sticker shock at the menu prices - even fast food costs way too much*. Thanksgiving will be smaller, turkey breast.
Was in Las Cruces NM, doing our last shopping trip of the year, and went to eat at FARMesilla. It was excellent. We would recommend it - except that new ownership will take over in 3 or so weeks. So might stay the same, might not. It was local grown foods, so more hothouse produce in Winter. π
Special ingredient in Charleston SC popup restaurant is masa.
This was so much fun last year!!
Academia says "You read the paper The descendants of Thomas Jordan (ca. 1685-1745) ... We found a related paper ...
The Discovery of Elijahβs Hill and Johnβs Site of the Baptism, East of the Jordan River ..."
I say: Yes, the Jordan River is probably the source of Jordan last name. Thanks AI.
So this is pre his use of ghosts?

I have fond memories of several times sitting around a campfire by a river and seeing this meteor shower, quite spectacular! While the night sky here in New Mexico is amazing, my eastern view is blocked by mountain wall. thanks for the reminder for prep work! www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/me...

I suspect the MAGA government decided to launch all these Bluesky accounts tonight to try to bait people in advance of No Kings.
These people have incurable 4chan brain and this is how they operate.
Block them. Do not engage. Do not give them what they want.
