A parting gift from the Starbucks employees I discovered this morning

Imagine if a cyclist tried to squeeze to the right of the porta potty and just...knocked it over into the cars.
I just hope it is not replaced with an ugly weed store
This is way better than my idea of zip tying a shovel to the front of my bike

"We need a strong mandate and a united Canada with CUSMA coming up and Alberta separatists meeting with Trump officials."
I couldn't get over how it was a city of 10 million people and 1.5x as dense as Toronto, but felt so much more lush, pretty, functional, neighbourhoody, and spacious. I wanna send all our NIMBYs (and city planners) there so they could see how nice the missing middle could be.
Reddit became good after they banned some of the worst subs. Actually has almost too strong of a left bias -- people will post threads in r/ontario asking "People who voted for Doug Ford, why? [serious]" and you get very few real answers.
I'm sure in a week's time, when some sidewalks are still impassable, people who haven't been able to leave their house can comfort themselves by saying "well, at least the City hasn't plowed the bike lanes either!"
Exactly. Sure, fewer people bike in the winter than the summer, but I guarantee more people are biking on Bloor than using this parking spot.
My prediction is that he's going to lose his mayoral bid, run again in a midtown riding provincially or federally, and campaign on "as a YIMBY, here's why I oppose this densification..."
He's Toronto's answer to all the American "why I left the left" grifters
I spent the week in Minneapolis. About the only thing Iโm sure of now is that more people are going to die. www.thestar.com/opinion/star...
They do! Here you go: www.thestar.com/opinion/star...
Joe Rogan is the avatar of this kind of guy -- the median swing voter. Tends to have a grab bag of opinions that don't fit into a neat ideological box other than "vaguely populist," likes politicians who seem "real" and could hang and shoot the shit. Would vote Ford and Kinew.
I once did food bike delivery as a side hustle and literally quit the job one night in the middle of a storm like this because it was so unsafe. Just noped the hell outta there, locked my bike up, and took a taxi home.
most people, left and right, treat traffic violence like the weather and not a specific policy choice
Donald Trump heard your plea
Someone did once question me as to why I referred to my cousin's children as my "nephews" and I was like "...am I supposed to call them my first cousins once removed??"
Iโm watching the World Series. Iโm taking part o the Stanford prison experiment. Iโm at the combination World Series/Stanford prison experiment
I'm soooo sleepy
Does any e-scooter share system use docks? Other than the actual risk of the scooters, the street litter seems to be one of the main complaints, but BikeShare docks seem to have largely solved that problem.
I decided to go for a ride along Eglinton the other day for the first time (coming up from the Humber) and the bike lanes were so nice until they stopped, and then it was so dramatically brutal I bailed and just went home.
Parkside Drive, too. Practically no driveways / conflict points on the park/westmost lane, prevents conflict with street parking on the eastmost lane.
If the lobbyists invite Minister Sarkaria to their wedding, maybe we'll be able to keep speed cameras!
I enjoyed the comparisons of it to the Puppy Bowl. And that they mysteriously decided to announce this event before actually securing any artist. And "anything in English" as a musical genre in their silly survey.
I'm curious about all the Bradford abstentions. Is he just constantly leaving the room when he's not uselessly grandstanding?
Maybe their plan is to simply never release the approval criteria so municipalities are left in a sense of limbo and no new bike lanes are ever approved.
I thought the City made TCCS permanent in 2023?
I feel there's a lot of potential here
Adding curb extensions to narrow the distance that pedestrians have to cross would probably reduce the need for multi-stage crossings
