The Ghosts of Mortua Luna so far...
Hopefully will be finishing the second two Steeljacks (centre) tomorrow, and got another 3 Thunderjacks (right) to assemble from the kits I currently own and that'll then be about 1/3rd the event force assembled.

Also its insane with the quality of Ork sculpts that Gw havent redone gorkamorka.
Claw aside the weapons feel more reasonably sized, still 40k big but not 40k ork MASSIVE weapons.
The head has elements of the classic old world designs, far less pronounced forehead to the stage the eyes barely peak out of the helm. His clothes feel more like clothes than just a scrappy tanktop.
The grot weapons feel designed for their size rather than humourously large. "Serious" orks
Looks like Orks are getting bigger, and grots getting meaner with these two. Loving the look.

Also part of my head says "dont over do the project cost with conversions" whilst the other says the Votann hero on Sargottas platform full of screens would look SWEEET
I can also work this in to HOW the ancestor core was salvaged but allowed to reactivate its bio and mechanical forges in a damaged state.
It'd of been a Tarellian salvage vessel that recovered the core, with its Pirate Captain/Engineer becoming enthralled by its power and facilitating its plans
I like the idea that its outside help, because Votann would have some serious concerns about whats actually going on.
But it isnt a robot, but could be a hybridisedc conversion of a non-kin to "kin" in the cores eyes.
And I do enjoy minor xenos faction representation
I cant tell if adding the Tarellian Dog Solder (obviously would convert her) as the Chief Engineer would dilute the Ancestor Core project
If I'm on the "all are kin" train then having a semi-converted Tarellian would help expand the theme, but would mean not all robots

It also plays into the WHY the original ship crashed
Did the crew crash it as the core went rogue
Did the core crash it as it could grow no further in its current confines.
Was it truly an accident and the damage has shifted its operational plan
Or has the damage slowed its plan and its adjusting
It also goes back to the "there's nothing new in the universe" vibe where the core may be on the brink of a conversion event harkening to that which wiped the Necrontyr and created the Necrons

In my head this is a 41st millenia ghost story
A ship wrecked
The souls of the crew trapped
Cursed to reanimate, fight and die again
And again
The core unable to release them, too many "souls" in its operating system
Locked in its doom spiral of trying to save the crew.
Each iteration wrong

Tester on the first "Ghost" now ready, a deceased crew member reconstituted by the ancestor core however his files are corrupt and hes making some wild design leaps.

Wasnt entirely happy with the head so the idea has been revisited, lore remains the same but utilising thallax heads with greenstuff cabling instead.
Also used Hearthguard shoulderpad for gun arm, backpacks from squats. Chainblade and datastack on unit leader.

As this is a unit leader he's got a Datastack maglocked to his back, with the Ancestor Core so comprimised and running on emergency power there is a sufficiently worrying reduction in datastorage capacity. To rectify select crew members are having to take up the slack in data storage.
