Partly, this reflects expectations: the debate over whether Labour or the Greens were best placed to block Reform seemed already settled for this cohort. "I think it's a two-horse race, this by-election between Reform and Green" one participant observed. There was cautious optimism for the Greens - Zack Polanski in particular was viewed positively. Participants highlighted the party's stance on Gaza and its Muslim co-deputy leader, Mothin Ali, and more broadly saw it as "inclusive" toward ethnic minorities. Curiously, no one mentioned the environment, and the Green Party's positions on trans rights or defence - areas other parties perceive as vulnerabilities for Polanski - appeared to concern no one.
Given that “trans rights and defence” are about 60% of the full arsenal of media bullshit, I think the pundits are recognising a nightmarish threat here: a substantial demographic groups that stubbornly refuses to be shitehoused into compliance.

125 years ago, on the 27th of February 1900, the British Labour Party was founded. It was formed by unions and smaller scale socialist organisations to unify their political power. They would produce 7 PMs, the first in 1924 with James Ramsay MacDonald and the most recent in 2024 with Keir Starmer.

There's a reason that the UK is only EU nation no longer be an EU nation, when outright Euroscepticism is nearly unheard of most of Europe's mainstream centre-right parties, because PR has ensured that it was the preserve of far right fruit loops! FPTP simply funneled extremism into the big two!
Yeah there's a reason that the UK Labour Party is if not institutionally transphobic (I think it has become so) at the very least vastly more tolerant of anti-trans bigotry and unwilling to stand up for trans people than literally any other major Social Democratic party in Europe!
