Exclusive | Elite Universities Form Private Collective to Resist Trump Administration Separate from the public dissent, a group of school leaders are strategizing behind the scenes about how to respond and push back against the White House.

Yes! Exactly. Exactly, exactly.

"The Trump administration has been worried schools would team up in resistance, because it is harder to negotiate with a united front..."

President Trump announced far-reaching tariffs on most of the United States’ trading partners.

So far-reaching, in fact, that they include a remote Antarctic island group inhabited mainly by penguins — and a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean known for its polar bears. wapo.st/4lfaitV

This pointless stunt by Cory Booker is accomplishing nothing but drawing attention to the Trump administration’s wrongdoing and delaying the work of the Senate and energizing the Democratic base and, wait, hang on, let me come in again

- Men's basketball beat Kentucky in the Sweet 16
- Baseball beat South Carolina on the road
- Softball beat Oklahoma on the road.

this is just bad political instincts, period. most people don't care either way on trans issues and continuing to bring it up (as opposed to fighting back hard when Republicans take away ppls' rights) only plays into the hoax that "Democrats need to stop talking so much about trans issues"

On Freedom is one of the most thought provoking texts I’ve read in a while & ultimately inspired my shift in scope & sequence of class. Looking for more text suggestions, if anyone out in the Sky has some. Themes of class - freedom, power, equality, & protest as we work thru civics content #booksky

Finished Snyder’s latest today. His definition of freedom, as a positive concept, not just the removal of barriers, is something I’ll be thinking about for a long time going forward. Can’t wait to teach it next fall. #booksky

A graphic from the American Library Association's campaign, "Show Up for Our Libraries." It reads:

"President Trump signs executive order gutting Institute of Museum and Library Services. By eliminating the only federal agency dedicated to funding library services, the Trump administration's executive order is cutting off at the knees the most beloved and trusted American institutions and the staff and services they offer."

This is a great piece. One thing it’s important for folks to recognize is that the right has been working to whitewash the way US history is taught and publicly discussed for over a century now. What’s relatively new is how aggressively they’re using the power of the federal government to do it.

In ‘19 I took a class on democratic erosion & participated in a culminating symposium in DC. I remember clearly comparing DT’s actions to Bolsonaro’s in Brazil. Profs leading discussion disagreed we could see the same kind of gov takeover 🙃 Started w Comey firing, the courts & SCOTUS, then AGs & DOJ

They should never work in politics again. THIS is the energy we need.
