This is the wrong way - this is encouraging driving.
Metro fare to the airport should be free go encourage metro rather than driving. Or, if we insist on charging, it should come with some fast pass through security or similar.

Gross, my kids definitely don't need more weeks dedicated to standardized testing
It's particularly big news because @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social was the chair of the Committee on Business and Economic Development, which oversees the PSC and evidently he was asleep at the wheel here.
We literally walked (3 blocks) home, the hospital was quite freaked out.
Did I miss the article mentioning MD? I didn't see it.
TBH, I'm kind of annoyed at the new tipped wage ballot. I am not sure why they just didn't do tipped wage again. The question of what the apropriate minimum wage should be is different than should tipped workers get stiffed on their wages.
What if they're all good reasons to vote against McDuffie?
If you can't do the work to get the valuable parts complete, it's probably not worth expending the political capital.
Is it true that the temporary bill doesn't impact FY26? I thought it did while the emergency bill did not.
Would love to see this analysis for DC. Also, the analysis needs to be boiled down better for delivery to decision. The video was a bit on the slow side (though the 3D graphics may be very compelling).
I assume this is a calculated move to ensure that even if McDuffie wins, he isn't completely hostile to urbanist issues. I get it, it feels icky, but is what effective advocates need to do.
That said, no one who prioritizes urbanist issues is going to vote for that empty suit.
(1) Gamblers need legal outlets or the mob profits (2) Prediction markets are better than draft kings because they make socially useful info (3) restrict gambling companies to bookie services rather than making bets and ban them from marketing and you'll likely mitigate many of the social harms.
A key point that I'm not sure you mentioned is that the emergency bill isn't contested. That bill changed the tax law for 2025 and isn't subject to the repeal regardless.
Thank you for the clear analysis @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social. Now can we file our 2025 taxes?
I'll believe it when I see some actual enforcement data.
There is zero prep work happening in DC. If we hit. Boom we're screwed.
Definitely heard thunder and saw lightning this morning around 7:45am
It's an easy choice.

McDuffie, "despite over a decade in office, [] is light on substance"
What a coward @mayorbowser.dc.gov is. You're the leader of the city, don't pass the buck, answer the question.
I appreciate you stepping up but are you also planning on running for the full term? There is a lot to be said about having someone who will be there six months later. That'll probably be a factor in how I vote in the special election.
Is there a relevant analysis on rate changes over the last couple of years and justifications from pepco on those changes?
.... which is why the argument about 4k officers was such dumb political theater. DC can't even hire the officers it's already authorized to hire.
I've never been prouder of Phil than today. I appreciate him just doing it and daring them to act.
No one tell Republicans they can watch @pbs.org to learn how to count ๐คฃ
Why would DC need to sue vs congress? Can't DC just act under their reasonable belief of the law and let congress demand that they do otherwise?
Yes, I see how uncertainty would be a issue. Though it seems DC may have a plan for this tax year anyhow.
Rather than sue to block, Phil should issue a statement like that one that it had become law, and DC should just act accordingly, because it is the law. Let the republicans sue to enforce their untimely resolution.
Hey @maustermuhle.bsky.social can you explore if this is a viable option for DC?
I guess if all of congress represents us, I expect them to start taking our meetings to begin with...
