Thankfully I think things have gotten better over the last decade, but being a teenage girl in con spaces meant you knew you were going to get unwanted comments from ADULTS all weekend.
We were cosplaying Madoka Magica characters. Link and Midna. My Little Pony characters. I wasn’t even 5ft tall yet. We almost stopped going to cons because there was one man who would write about his encounters with me online through fanfiction.
We were genuinely afraid of being abducted.
Using this international women’s day to remind yall that with con season coming up, we need to keep those spaces safe for young girls.
From the ages of 12-16, grown men asked me to flash them, sexualized me for photos, and two different men silently followed my friends and I around con grounds.

i know it's the life drawing that got me flagged as nsfw but there's something so comedic about somehow being assigned both.
