Reflecting on 2025, I worked on NINE animated projects in a single year. I stopped updating my LinkedIn and IMDB bc of it. No wonder I’ve been so fucking tired. 🚬

But now I’ve got my spark back for the next thing…which is, hilariously, none of those nine other things. Tenth time’s a charm! ✨✨✨

Imagine a world where children are never encouraged to draw or write or imagine stories, they are only told to consume and prompt and generate, poking the Approved Intellectual Property Characters with a stick to dance for them, but never having characters or worlds or stories of their own.

AI tempts everyone with perfection and immediate gratification- studios and consumers alike. But the creation of art is an expression of the human condition and so it will always be flawed in execution somehow, to someone. We have lost sight of the VALUE in that.

The places that you knew for making good art talk about it like a product now. It’s not about vision, it’s about reach. I think as someone who makes AND consumes art and wants humans to keep making it, it’s certainly made me reconsider my own consumption and meaningful engagement.

Overconsumption is to blame for so much of what is happening with media and it is getting harder and harder to make good art because people are consuming art like an infinite product instead of imperfect human creation. We are being PRIMED for a future of AI slop and are cooking ourselves, guys.
