With those polling numbers we don't have the first foggiest clue what FPTP will end up with. Which is, of course, another good reason to get rid of it.
Let's not give Wilson too much credit. Wilson gave the US Navy intelligence and logistic support during the Vietnam War including use of bases. Also the UK trained US Special Forces in jungle warfare. Wilson was just able to keep quiet about it.
Ah, Edgar was elected but not crowned. And was only about 14 at the time. Seems to have had a long and interesting life after surrendering to William.
The English crowned another king (Edgar) after Harold died and William had to fight his way to London. Then there were other uprisings and Harold's sons invaded to have a go... all before the Harrying of the North.
We've got a base in Qatar. Iran is potentially going to try to attack it.
Be my guest.
Well, it's like that old Latin phrase - If you want peace, prepare for war. Then do a war. Then another. Bit more war. A few war-adjacent things. Do a big war.
Hmmm... now we've got a desert.
Then call the desert peace and go home. Job done, collect prize.
According to the Guardian, he's currently in a Cobra meeting. Spokesperson said the usual about not wanting to see escalation, etc, etc.
Here it's magpies and parakeets, both of which like to make a bit of noise.
My (possibly niche) opinion is that Labour are doing pretty well on climate/energy issues under Miliband, so it's possible that Polanski just doesn't want to fight on that terrain.
"Charlotte embodies the new Conservative party" -- someone no-one has every heard of, who loses her deposit?
Kemi's nailed it.
That's literally what they've done, e.g on pylons for renewable infrastructure. ZP could make a clear statement that he won't stand for it, but without a whipping system it'd make no difference.
If you were actually old, you could check the result when you got up to go to the loo at 3am.
The Daily on a PC gave me the Black Star for the 1st Boss. Turned out quite easy after getting a Mind Blast (tripled) in Act 3 & a bottled Apotheosis.
The implication is that a "pro-growth government" gets rid of the legal liabilities so businesses can do whatever they want. Complaining about HR is just a proxy for what they really don't like.
I don't mind 'full-cast audiobooks' when they've been adapted to basically be radio plays. Otherwise... nope.
Oligarch chic. Are there still enough Russians buying UK property for this to be viable?
There were a couple of years when you could get fantastic CRT TVs for about ยฃ20 on eBay.
If you can get the law through Parliament, sure. Maybe a lottery rather a vote, give everyone a chance to wear the shiny hat.
There's nothing unusual about Parliament deciding on the succession. It's been doing it since 1701. It's a legal, and political, matter. No magic required.
It's 10 people randomly clicking on a YouGov poll to get it over with so they can claim their points.
Also, "actions speak louder than words" - it's not about rudeness, it's because they did something directly against the environment. Albeit in a very small way.
The ballsy move would be to also reissue the previous novels with duelling annotations and footnotes from the academic rivals.
There was less tooth decay, but bread had mill stone grit in it. So teeth would get worn down and broken.
I'm sorry, Alex, but things were just better in 1971. I could lie in bed all day sucking boobs and no one got upset when I soiled myself.
I first noticed it literally this week. It doesn't have the ring of Poundshop.
They missed a trick by not linking to a copy of the original version with that wording in it.
The linked factsheet does not contain that quote. Maybe it was amended after McSweeny went? Is there a link to the original draft?
They seem unusually incompetent/terrible in certain areas. In other areas they've passed some decent left-wing policies. e.g. tenancies, workers' rights, energy, transport, climate. And they seem to be making the right noises in some other areas - esp towards the EU.
