The first Redwing arrival is one of my favourites on the birding calendar. After an arrival on the east coast yesterday, there was already some in the nets at Seaforth this morning #Lancsbirding
Fantastic day on the Wirral watching wind blown Leach's Petrels leaving the river Mersey. The last couple of birds passed within metres over the beach on the ebbing tide!

In Feb 23 we undertook a census of the UK naturalised Barnacle Goose population. The aim to produce an updated population estimate & report on winter distribution. Results have now been published in @britishbirds.bsky.social, with our thinking on future monitoring needs #Ornithology 1/7 โฌ๏ธ
