We need a Romantic revolution in art, we need to stop being okay with paint-by-numbers utilitarian commodity entertainment, cause it ainβt the same. It so clearly is not a substitute.

The bill has now passed the house and onto the next step of becoming law. Feels bad man. I tried.
Waiting for Godot except it's me waiting for pest control which my apartment office keeps saying will come by to take care of the bugs.
Omg
I hope to address both indie and AAA games in the final product - just surprised this particular game isn't being talked about in online spaces! Anyhow, love the material it's giving me:
Played a game that is 100% dissertation material which is cool until I realized that like. No one's really talked about it. As in like. Very few conversations about it on social media. Not even a TV Tropes page. Uncharted territory with this one, it seems.
Daily reminder that calling ai dead labor and stolen labor is literal.
I have seen a lot of cursed stuff in my time in academia but this is among the *most* cursed.
Grammarly is generating miniature LLMs based on academic work so that users can have their writing βreviewedβ by experts like David Abulafia, who died less than two months ago.
Anyhow, the bill passed anyways. So that sucks.
In these trying times, felt damn good to have my name stated in waiving against a senate bill.
**NEW POST**
LLMs hallucinate, & they hallucinate WORSE on topics we don't already know/write a lot about. This creates a huge accuracy gap.
This week I tested ChatGPT on Beethoven & Smyth to show how big this gap is & why it matters. It made up a LOT.

I wish I knew this film had a Stephen Foster medley damn would have been great for my class

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
Morning of day two and just........ yeaaaaaah..........
Maybe this is just me but shouldn't a joint regional conference be well attended? π
During class break, went to vending machines with classmates. They wanted M&Ms. First one - stuck. Purchased a second one - first package freed, second one stuck. Purchased a third one - second package freed, third package was actually Toggi wafers. Bamboozled.
Hardest I've laughed in a while.
Guess who received a jury summons in the middle of the semester? π
Absolute shocker of a rights grab - academics may want to push back hard
Aight still behind for another week. But man. This season. Some buuuuuuuuullshit.
Lololololol that ending was bonkers. Rigged.
Biblically accurate angel I am living
As a current Floridian, fuck
Controversial episode time here we go
That whole arc was bullshit.
Talent show part 2: these still suck
Side quest: someone is writing a paper on that new Lana Del Rey video, right?
Drunk and catching up on Drag Race. I fucking hate the talent shows. The first round was. Like. Fine. The lip sync. Was fine. Pissed that Ciara was bottom. Round 2? Let's find out.
My uncle, who works for the government, did just this when certain departments came through and demanded 10 page weekly reports. He had ChatGPT write ten pages on, like, how long it took him to enter his vehicle. Really mundane tasks. Certain departments never read the bunk reports.
