Given Trump’s public attacks on CNN and his clear preference for Paramount’s effort to acquire the entire company, including CNN, it’s reasonable to suspect that he helped tip the scales so an ally could wield influence over the network.
Warner Bros. repeatedly signaled that Netflix had won the bid and insisted they would not sell to Paramount. Yet, almost overnight, the narrative flipped: Paramount, not Netflix, was said to have secured the deal.
The only reason Paramount won the bid to purchase Warner Bros is because the Ellisons have a cozy relationship with Trump.
