New electrified Divvy station on sidewalk
π²β‘Chicago's newest electrified Divvy charging station is live at Lincoln & Roscoe in Roscoe Village right outside the CTA Paulina Brown Line station! Excited to bring more reliable e-device operations to a busy L station. @ryanmccray.bsky.social this one's in the 47th Ward!
"Every fine summer night, television sets can be seen outdoors, used publicly, on the busy old sidewalks of East Harlem. Each machine, its extension cord run along the sidewalk from some store's electric outlet, is the informal headquarters spot of a dozen or so men who divide their attention among the machine, the children they are in charge of, their cans of beer, each others' comments and the greetings of passers-by. Strangers stop, as they wish, to join the viewing."
Hell yeah, that's a city life to fight for. Absolutely loving Death and Life of Great American Cities

housing delayed = housing denied
A map of Chicago and its surroundings in the style of a classic New Yorker cartoon about how New Yorkers see their city as the center of the universe and have vague definitions of anything further than immediately outside it

Outside Lexington, IL it's 11 PM and the horizon is nothing but suspended red lights flashing in sync, hundreds of them. Wind turbines?

Best I can do is 70% cuts to CDOT safe streets team who CTA would work with to achieve dedicated lanes. Please reach out to your alder here secure.everyaction.com/gWc687nzwUeG...
I appreciate a news source that still prints corrections. Extremely disappointing info that constituents need to remember
URGENT ACTION NEEDED:
Mayor Johnson's 2026 bond proposal defunds safe streets infrastructure by a whopping 70% β putting our communities in jeopardy by threatening the progress we've made in preventative infrastructure.
Email him and your alderperson today and tell them to reverse course!
Please email your alderman below to save Chicago's safe streets infrastructure funding. The cuts would be apocalyptic at 70% gone!
SROs are a valid form of housing and necessary for cities to prevent homelessness. Inventory continuing to decline is bad, even when closures like this are needed
It is an amazing day!!
Environmental policy at work
Oh, and land value tax would fix this
Thinking of the intersections to this story. The woman killed was knocking on the bus trying to get on & slipped. Weβve all seen people run after a bus, knocking on its windows or door, knowing if you miss one you may wait a while. Sidewalks full of snow & slow infrequent buses. All connected.
Hell yeah, i wonder about the geography nuances here. Still thinking about that one NYC paper that only had housing get cheaper within a few blocks
