They need to let go of that 300 character limit that everyone ends up working around anyway. TBH it's the bluesky "feature" I find most annoying.

Any large system that's been around for a while tends to accumulate a lot of cruft! I think we both agree that Elon's team is not the right group to fix it tho.
That's a job AI is fully capable of at this point -- even small LLMs with image input can handle that!
While DOGE sounds great in theory, it's being implemented by someone who is bad at running turnarounds. Under Elon's leadership, Twitter's revenue dropped 80% in two years. While there is undeniably a lot of inefficiency in the USG, he will cripple the USG instead of making it more efficient.
Very confused now. What happened?
I think news feed filtering algorithms are good! I just want control of them. :-)
HF? Hedge fund?
There's this, but I've never tried it: hume.ai
There are plenty of speech-to-text and text-to-speech services you can use to wrap Claude into a speech-to-speech system.
My impressions of Bluesky so far:
* It has a lot of potential but it needs some key FB features to be useful to me: longer posts, friends-only posts, better discussion threading etc.
* End the 300 character post limit! It favors hot takes over nuance and stops me from communicating naturally.
Oh -- I might be misunderstanding the scope then -- I actually can't read the full WaPo article as it's paywalled.
The Trump memecoin is actually worse than a grift -- it's a perfect tool for taking bribes. Anyone looking to transfer money to the president can just buy some amount of $TRUMP, then cryptographically prove possession. The purchase drives the price up, and Trump owns most of it, so he profits.
"Examples include:
Barack Obama's administration issued a memo on January 20, 2009, directing all agencies to pause pending regulations for review"
Trump's doing lots of terrible things, but maybe this isn't one of them?
I asked Claude about this, and apparently this is actually common.
"it's relatively common for incoming presidential administrations to implement some form of temporary pause or review of external communications and pending regulations at federal agencies during the transition period."
What are the best AI/ML accounts to follow on here?
@bsky.app please enable videos longer than 60 seconds so I can upload longer videos directly here!
Speedrunning learning to read:
Phase 1: Letter shapes and sounds. 13-16 months
Phase 2: Sight recognition of ~20 words. 16-19 months, but it doesn't scale.
Phase 3: Letter sequences and phonetic reading. 24-35 months. Requires better sequencing skills and memory
