All of my life I have been told how to act by ppl who don't even know me, or know me well enough to know better. I say as long as we do no harm, we should always be ourselves. Even when in being ourselves it becomes a lifestyle of great protest.

I don't go around slamming how ppl vote. I just want an America that feels like home. Where I feel safe, or as safe as anyone else is, even if they are white cis straight men. I want to feel as safe as them. I want a home where my existence isn't up for debate, and I have somewhere I can potty

I don't cry often, but yes, all the crazy violence in America right now, the terror of the current Presidential admin, it has me scared. Not just for me, but for the future. I just want to live life, be nice, and write books. I don't any trouble. Bigotry is evil, and yes, it makes me cry.

1/2 I hate violence in the real world. In fiction, totally cool, not in reality. I HATE IT! This doesn't mean I have to like a vile person bc they were assassinated. I still feel bad that it happened, and that the family is suffering, I still hate the views of the person who was assassinated.

Just to point out, yes 100% McBride gets singled out as a Democrat more often because she’s trans. But as a trans person speaking about another trans person - she is a deeply disappointing representation both as official who represents trans ppl AND as a run of a mill democrat.

Living in America should be enough for everyone to see why diverse lives matter. Bigotry blinds so many. It's a cancer that should have went extinct a long time ago, but here we are.
