I wonder if Gwyneth Paltrowβs character in Marty Supreme is based on the life of Helen Twelvetrees? Former movie star of the β30s has a disastrous Broadway debut later in her career. Twelvetreesβ show lasted 11 performances. Gwynethβs maybe not even that!
