I wonder if Gwyneth Paltrow’s character in Marty Supreme is based on the life of Helen Twelvetrees? Former movie star of the ‘30s has a disastrous Broadway debut later in her career. Twelvetrees’ show lasted 11 performances. Gwyneth’s maybe not even that!
