Humanitarian Regime Change?
In our latest post, @jamespattison.bsky.social criticises the humanitarian rhetoric used in the justification of the ongoing US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
Feels like it might be time to suspend the USA team from the World Cup this year.
One I think I would have included: Family (TNG).
As a professional military strategist, I just wanted to make sure everyone has a full understanding of the American strategy in Iran, thank you for your attention to this matter
It's depressing that this is news. Grow up. It's a statue.
Unfortunately not - only for the invited speakers and commentors.
I'm organising a workshop in Glasgow in May, about how people should respond to ethically tainted sporting events. I've just made a PhilEvents page. If you've got any questions about it, send me an email!

I've seen a huge number of Labour ads for today's by-election (despite living nowhere near). They've been absolutely disgraceful. From cynical claims about electoral calculus to outright smears, they should be ashamed. Hope the Greens batter them. #GortonAndDenton #ByElection
Picture of BBC News, with a reporter. Sign above says "Chevy Chase".
Chevy Chase doesn't look how I remember.
Two stories next to each other: from CNN 'Pentagon threatens to make Anthropic a pariah if it refuses to drop Al guardrails', and from New Scientist: 'Als can't stop recommending nuclear strikes in war game simulations Leading Als from OpenAl, Anthropic and Google opted to use nuclear weapons in simulated war games in 95 per cent of cases'
Just leaving these two stories next to each other.:

Had the same thought when I saw both of those today. What a world.
And just like that, I was converted back to Firefox.
I made a philosophy cryptic crossword for our postgrad reading party last week. A few people asked about it, so I shared it with @dailynous.com, and it's now available on the Heap of Links: dailynous.com/wp-content/u...
So if you're a special kind of nerd, check it out!

Man united players warming up.
Football tonight. Come on United! (Quietly, as I'm in the Everton stands.)
Altman indicating that he doesn't see human beings as ends in themselves, merely as inefficient work systems. Wanker.

When a political commentator says "Spare a thought for the king", I kinda tune out.
More worrying stuff. Ugh.
Sent!
Why are vegans, drivers of electric vehicles, peaceniks etc hated so much by reactionaries? Because their mere existence is a (justified) criticism of the behaviour of those who would prefer just to carry on unthinkingly.
If your study is framed as asking whether "AI" does X as well as humans do, it's fundamentally misguided and I'd argue not scientifically sound.
