I fully get this. We hit this point when my youngest was 13-14yo. It was a tough year for both of us, and I wasn’t sure we could make it through the teen years. For us, therapy was the turning point. Parenting is tough when you also have to parent yourself, at least in my case.
Lacking motivation to do the tasks at hand is something I struggle with daily. I’ve had to learn how to trick myself into doing them. Sometimes I start with something easy to accomplish, or maybe a longer task that lets me listen to a podcast I’ve been saving. But an iced coffee also works. #ADHD

There is a protest on May 29 at Lindsey Graham's office. We will begin gathering at 9:30 am, and we will have a group scheduled to go inside and speak at 10 am. Come out and help us line the streets!

My neighbor is selling their house. I’ll be putting up signs, flags and anything else I can think of to keep MAGA from considering it. We are a small street, with half of us white and the other half black. I will do anything to discourage racists and/or n@zis from moving in next door.
Check out the books that are on race, banned, & are LGBTQ+ friendly. Read them or don’t, but check them out and keep them from being taken off of your library shelves.
I must be doing something right. My librarians don’t even need my library card to grab my books off the hold shelf anymore. I’m known by name & I’m making a difference by keeping books in circulation that haven’t been checked out in over a year. Please get involved in your local library.
If you want to know how to get involved in fighting for books at your library, check out community advocates for education. This group has networks all over the upstate attend council meetings, and library board meetings. I’m getting involved with them and highly recommend you do the same.

Today I was on a call with Dems talking about what is needed to make more independents and republicans feel more welcome. We also talked about messaging. The main consensus: Stop forcing people to agree with everything about the party and focus on issues that affect all or most of Americans.

Something delightful for your day!
I fell in love with manatees as a child just from a postcard. The gentleness they seem to exude and their playfulness with each other made my heart fill to bursting. I don’t know what it is about them, but they bring me joy.
This is beyond disgusting to do to human beings. We are treating them like garbage we can just throw away. We need to do better as a country.
