Every time I wonder if I should look into getting a car, something happens in the world that sends oil prices up. Maybe it’s better to not have to pay for gas.
Anyway, have a British Rail ad from the 70s, because it’s still just as relevant as ever.
As we approach #Furnal2026, we'd like to give a few gentle reminders from our venue:
The back elevators (connected to the service corridor of the hotel) should not be used by anyone not accompanied by hotel staff. (1/3)
Please ensure that any material left within the venue for others is PG-rated, without political messaging, and is kind to others.
Do not adhere stickers to venue property - our charity tables have boards that you use for all your stickering desires. (3/3)
If you need to quickly get to your hotel room for accessibility or emergent reasons, please reach out con staff for assistance.
Inflatables will not be allowed in the pool at any time. (2/3)
I will be hosting a Railfurs meet and greet at the con :) depending on turnout and weather we could all go ride TTC too :)
Same for me from Burlington, just walk from Trembley VIA station instead of transferring to the O Train.

We will be landing on our new island August 7th - 9th and settling into our new home, The Ottawa Conference and Events Centre!!!
While we are grateful for our many years at the Delta which has opened its doors to us for many years. The change in our venue provides us with TWO hotels attached to the convention space, 500 FREE underground parking spots, and so MUCH room to expand!!

A tubby, golden labrador, Labby, cheerfully leans out the window of a bright train, coasting by beneath a lemony sky. He pins his conductor hat to his head, his ears flapping in the wind as the sunrail cha-chonks over the railroad, out from under a bridge and towards our point of view, right on schedule~
