i was raised by a single mom who had to change jobs quickly after her old place of work went belly up. the most fancy toy i had in that decade was a gameboy and a cartridge of super mario i *borrowed* from a neighboring kid. no playstation, saturn or pc.
i don't miss the 90s.
Also the sheer levels of consumerism and luxuries in the far-right's "remember the '90s!" bullshit is well past what even the handful of comfortably middle class kids I knew had access to.
Worth adding: they specifically miss being rich kids. Holy hell do they yearn for eras damn near none of us who grew up poor miss one bit.
