What a special week, performing Mahler’s 8th Symphony at Het Concertgebouw’s Mahler Festival, and on the 114th anniversary of Mahler’s death, with Klaus Mäkelä & @concertgborkest.bsky.social.
Some news: I’m delighted to be singing the role of Jezibaba in a concert staging of Dvořák’s Rusalka w Domingo Hindoyan & @liverpoolphil.bsky.social, with Sonya Yoncheva in the title role, PLUS this is also the 1st in a series of operas in concert for which I am Creative Producer for the RLPO.
Very much looking forward to making my debut at the Norwegian National Opera at the start of next season, conducted by Ed Gardner, in a role and opera I have long wanted to perform: JEZIBABA in Dvořák’s masterpiece Rusalka 🧙🏻🧜🏻♀️🔮

Looking forward to returning to the BBC Proms for Mahler’s lesser heard Das Klagende Lied, conducted by Hannu Lintu with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Grab a ticket!
A 5* review from @fionahmaddocks.bsky.social in The Observer for Mahler 3 with Domingo Hindoyan and @liverpoolphil.bsky.social last week. It was a special night.

As the luscious D major of the last chord faded into a wonderful moment of ecstatic silence, there was an audible exhalation from the capacity audience. This was a performance worth every day of the five-year wait.”

“Jennifer Johnston’s O Mensch was similarly spacious, though in an altogether more expansive character. Her richly warm sound, imploring mankind to take heed of her (admittedly cryptic) words, was matched by seamlessly blended horns and gloriously soft violin playing…
