Just to be clear, I don't think 'British born' has any moral relevance here whatsoever. My point is just that Farage's claim should be called out as flatly absurd.

If Reform won 'British born' vote w/ 28.7% of total voters then no more than 57.4% of voters were Bb. G&D census has 51.1% as 'White - Eng, Scott, Welsh, NI, or Brit', so presumably Bb. Farage's claim *possible* only if <13% of rest born in UK, which is absurd: ~60% of UK Pakistanis eg born here.
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
This is not a reasoned political response. Labour has spent two years making all the voting groups who backed the Greens feel unwelcome and unheard, and now attacks them for daring to back someone else. They believe Labour isnβt listening and Starmer seems determined to prove them right
Starmer's delusional copium: Galloway's party won 3766 votes in 2024 GE in Gorton & Denton; equivalent to 3792 votes yesterday given more voters. But Greens beat Reform by 4402 votes! Meanwhile, the percentage of voters choosing Labour halved, equivalent to 9364 votes. Just a ridiculous statement.
Freudenfreude >> Schadenfreude.
Five days left to apply for the finance summer school vol. 3 π
Lyrics written by someone who attended the The London School of Economics, of course.
I once hunted down the original βinflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenonβ speech. Itβs so lightweightβjust MV=PQ solved for M. Friedmanβs pres address is as bad, just ignoring existing expectations discussion and Phillips curve theory. Almost 6 decades of obvious error!
I donβt know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is
Ich wΓΌrde gerne lesen, aber fΓΌr GroΓbritannien gibt es keine Abo-MΓΆglichkeit :-(. Verdammter Brexit! KΓΆnnen wir noch hoffen?
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at todayβs ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch π. @maddow.bsky.social
All three of my employers have made the list!
"Judges swear an oath to 'do right to all manner of people after the laws and usages of this realm, without fear or favour, affection or ill will.' All manner of people and without fear or favour. We need to tell them that trans lives are real and they matter."
You can get acquainted with the ridiculous, horrific details of the proposed plans and make your voice heard at this link: www.gov.uk/government/c...
This. Honestly I think the economic impact of ICE on Minnesota is just ramping up, and for people living in fear nothing has changed.
ICE are still here breaking stuff, hurting people, and violating the 4th Amendment and most driving rules.
Minnesota Forever. Abolish ICE.
Yes. One can comment on these awful
proposals until tomorrow at midnight. www.gov.uk/government/c...
Sometimes very hard not to feel like the rest of the country has abandoned Minnesota. We STILL have ICE everywhere. Our schools, businesses, and economy are in profound crisis. But without Bovino here throwing tear gas, much of the country seems to not care at all whatβs being done to us.
Something compelled me to make this
Hate-filled fake videos about London are everywhere. We've obtained a recording of a TikToker confessing to secretly filming Londoners in their homes for clicks.
He says it's not political. He just wants to make money from far-right anger.
Read what he says: www.londoncentric.media/p/london-tik...
This is a fascinating, if depressing, read.

As someone with a profound but unrepentant emdash addiction it is driving me mad seeing commenters yell βAI slop!!!β whenever there is even a single β anywhere in the copy.
Canβt match the prose, Joe, but I do share the sentiment.
I got, I kid you not, model.
Applications are open for the Finance Summer School 2026. Last two have been at Brown. This one is at LSE thanks to LSE European Institute and Huth Initiative, plus the Berkeley Program on Finance and Democracy. Stellar Line up. Apps open: forms.gle/WsEVk4Yy52Dn...
It would drive me crazy, too, if Macs did something analogous. I don't know if this is the right resource but you might be able to fix it: support.lenovo.com/us/en/soluti...
