That one's a big experiment. I'm trying all kinds of things to find out the influence on playability. It's a 28" 7-string and the nut is 50mm. It's a huge instrument.

Time to start the cavity for the electrics. The lid is made of walnut and maple veneer panel, treated with urushi oil. It creates a silky matt, fine sheen and emphasizes the grain nicely.
Now there's a lot of chiseling to be done.

I built this #cabinet to learn various techniques with hand tools.
I used #Kumiko to fill the door. For the larger surfaces (cabinet back wall and door) I veneered multiplex. Saraifo veneer was used. The body was fitted with #dovetail joints and the door with mortise and tenon.

Incredible surface!

So, I'm still building my first guitar from scratch. I've already posted some pics on IG but I want to fill this feed with live, so here we go again.
