I have recently discovered my cities silent book clubs. A bunch of people meet up at a Cafe or tap room, and silently read wahterver they want to. At the end you talk about what you are reading. You pick your book, but there is collective dedicated reading time.
It helps if you grab it as soon as the thought happens and then leave it on the stairs if not going back up right away.
