Happy that Stranger Things didnβt flub the landing. Using Return of the King as a blueprint was a smart call.

I just learned about Kendo Nagasaki 2 years ago from the Wrestle Me podcast (American, old British wrestling is largely unknown here). What an inspiring and impressive person. And I didnβt know he had a YouTube channel until now, thanks!

Portland Retro Gaming Expo was a blast, as usual. Scored some good games, had some great conversations, and βmetβ some βcelebritiesββ¦
There might be some validity to this. As a fan of Mobile Suit Gundam, Andrew WK is my favorite English musician in the fandom. However, while his music exists on YouTube, Iβve never seen a disc of it at any anime con Iβve been to (and Iβve looked!) maybe its all a ruseβ¦

Awesome! Pumped to see a VCF so close to home, especially after missing all of them this year. Canβt wait!
Iβm coming around on Final Fantasy Tactics, mostly because Ivalice Chronicles is truly a beautiful game. Just, every time I start getting into it, I read βmarquisβ and hear βmarquessβ which makes me wonder how these fictional, doughy British people with no noses were influenced by real world French.
Sunset in Odiba with Mt. Fuji in the background.
Back from a trip to Japan and looking through photos. I donβt think Iβll ever top this one.
Tokimeki Memorial gachapon? Well there goes all my cash. Didnβt even get Shiori, just like every time I play the game.
where were u when AOL die?
Just got PC-FXGA up and running recently. Totally worth it, its just so bizarre and works quite well. And there might even be a good game for it!
I archived the drivers for it here after some hours tracking them down, since most of the info out there is for DOS-V: archive.org/details/pc-f...
All jokes aside, this is one of the best bootleg games Iβve played. Not that thatβs saying much. I particularly like the ripoff Final Fantasy 4 music in it.
World of Warcraft for the NES, with a label done like a black box game. Thats the joke. Its obviously some sort of bootleg. Its pretty decent though!
No NES black box collection is complete without this classic!
The good news is streaming PC-FX games is working great! The bad news (for me) is that the game I chose to stream first, Pia Carrot, is quite goonery. I love a good dating sim though, and this one is pretty decent, but my reflexes to change scenes in OBS are 99th percentile now.

Since when did we start calling VCRs βVHS playersβ? Is this some sort of regional dialect, Mandela Effect, or just AI slop made manifest?
Be sure to click Khaled Mardam-Beyβs nose to celebrate!
Also, tangentially related, I found it while streaming live on Twitch. Now if I didnβt have an awful noise gate set up, I would have had a good reaction clip too. Oh well, next time.

Found a nice asthetic piece for my 90βs 486 recreation setup today! Now to give it some attention so it doesnβt do something silly like, oh, burn down my house.
Itβs in better condition than the one I had in the 90βs too! Just one piece to go (the right CRT), and my back is in no hurry there.
Going into this knowing nothing about the game, I expected something totally different. Instead, you showed a game right up my alley! Going to give the Famicom translation a go. Also, the Kojima seeing Jesus joke (and that whole segment) was A+
Got some sweet 3D printed SNES game stands from a friend recently. Theyβre quite sturdy and look great! Now to clean up the rest of the shelves and have them all look this good (an endless struggle)
I read somewhere recently that Lou was wonderful to work with but couldnβt act at all. Couldnβt do things like deliver lines differently and whatnot. I think thats what makes it so endearing though. Captain Lou is the REAL Mario to me!
Only did a floppy install once. It was enough.
I just finished warching Tim Rogersβs masterpiece of a video about Tokimeki Memorial (a few years late), and Iβm super grateful that the SFC fan translation exists. I canβt wait to dive into this game, although I know itβll just leave me wanting more.

Aside from Hong Kong 97, I assume
I loved this era of fan translations. I have memories of my friends and I finding a translation rom of FFIII and laughing at the βOnio Kidβ job at the start. Even the bad/incomplete translations were magical!
A Slot-1 motherboard.
Looks like my next project will be building my first Slot 1 system. Now to get to the ewaste shop and get the rest of the parts for it, which will likely result in additional new projects.
This board is pretty interesting, lots of on-board components. What to do with itβ¦
A bunch of old Mattel handheld games.
A MSX2+ for sale outside of Japan! In the box and refurbished? I now know the true nature of temptation.
My pickups. Never played FF12 so this is will be fun.
MORSE CODE THING
Interesting stuff at the antique mall today! Only ended up getting FF12 and a Babylon 5 figure. The temptation was high though.
Also, Morse Code Thing.
I had the Tetris watch and loved it for all the times I got punished in school. Time well spent!
When youβre nWo, youβre nWo for life, Jill Valentine.
Me IRL
Now I just need some better PC-FX games. A challenge in and of itself. Maybe Iβll try the Pia Carrot English patch.
A PC98 and PC-FXGA add-on card in action! With such a good game too.
Now weβre cooking! PC-9821 with a PC-FXGA.Time for some dual screen gaming! If you could call it that, the PC-FXGA has its own video out for playing PC-FX games independent of the rest of the system (CD-ROM aside). The PC is unusable while gaming!
Its so bizarre and I absolutely love it!
