Iโm full off cold and sitting miserably on my sofa with a big box of tissues and an Ann Cleeves novel.
I thought the TV series of Vera, was ok, but the books are definitely a really good read, the Shetland series are also a good investment.
Even though it changes colour mid film..
Just started this, very interested to see what Lizbeth gets up to with this author, her Jana Kippo books were great so Iโve high expectations on this
Currently part way through one of the Reacher books, itโs good
What Iโm reading today, only a few pages in and Iโm already hooked, this is the story of a man trying to give up being an assassin to concentrate on his family. In doing so he takes on more challenging assignments and puts his family at risk. ๐๐
Heโs just another power hungry Dick tater..
This week Iโm reading The Traitor, nothing to do with the awful TV program, itโs about a Norwegian detective, Wisting, Iโve read several of John Lier Hirst, Wisting books, another Scandi writer that never fails to keep you turning the pages. ๐๐
About half way through this in the Jackson Brodie series by Kate Atkinson, A Murder Mystery weekend, missing artwork, complex characters in the mix, all getting Jacksonโs attention while contemplating his own midlife malaise.๐๐๐
Iโve loved several of The Brodie books, this could be the best yet.
Happy St. Patrickโs Day to all my fellow Irish folk.

No wonder youโve no time to trim those whiskers.โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
My back gave up on me at the weekend, digging at the allotment, Oh to be young and fit again, even lifting a carton of milk is painful, so Iโm flat on my back listening to Gabrielle Glaister narrating this gem.

Enjoy your book on #WorldBookDay
Iโm certainly enjoying
W M Cravens, โDead Groundโ a Detective Washington Poe thriller, Iโd definitely recommend this series of books.
This is the book of the TV series โVirdeeโ about a detective in Bradford, Iโve enjoyed it as I love reading about places Iโm familiar with, as expected the TV series and book do differ but thatโs to be expected but donโt be put off itโs a great read and Iโm hoping thereโs a sequel to both.
Just finishingโForget Me Notโ by M J Arlidge, itโs one of the DI Helen Grace crime novels which I can definitely recommend, the books are a great read and will keep you turning the pages as she leads her team to solve crime in Southampton.
The โCharlie Parkerโ series by John Connolly are definitely worth a read, in this a mother is suspected of murdering her son, Charlie working for the Lawyer investigates with the help of his eclectic associates & a frumpy middle aged medium with extraordinary powers they search for the truth. ๐๐๐
They look like they might benefit from a bit of pruning, itโs still not too late, cut spindly branches back by about a third, allowing the tree to grow stronger branches to carry fruit.
Most readers will be familiar with Mark as the author of the โDetective Tom Thornโ books but If youโve not read Marks latest detective โDCI Declan Millerโ books Iโd definitely recommend them, well thought out plots delivered with humour and twist that will keep you turning the pages.
Get a composter for the kitchen waste, itโs amazing how quickly you fill it with egg shells, potato peelings, cabbage/ cauliflower leaves, coffee grinds etc Newspaper and cardboard can also be added. Add directly to your compost bin or dig a trench and burry into your beds.
Plant Comfrey.
Waterstones in Bradford,Yorkshire, probably the best looking bookstore in the world. But then Iโm biased.๐โค๏ธ

Day 16
Yes, I had a weekend of digging over a few beds, plus some more temporary repairs to my damaged poly tunnel, so today Iโm sat on the sofa with a W.M.Craven book wondering if my backache will subside enough for me to cook some food.
Itโs no fun being old.
