Ok Ireland I climbed like four million stairs to get here, make it worth it.

Your reminder that if a company is posting about #IWD today or over the weekend, you should check their gender pay gaps on PayGap.ie or the UK government portal.
Policies are not progress. I'm tired of pink water bottles and cupcakes, I want change.
His mission is "haulted". This is the great thinker of our generation? Jesus christ...
I am *hopeless* when it comes to the city centre. Where is a good place for a gang of women to meet up, have some dinner, and discuss how we're going to fix the world together? I had an idea but they don't open on a Wednesday π I have some plans myself, but would love any ideas!
Sneachta. Sneachta everywhere. This lousy smarch weather.
If we want to close the gender pay gap in Ireland, this is where we need to start. The motherhood penalty continues to be a significant contributor to the pay gap, and it is completely solvable.
If we stop penalising mothers, the motherhood penalty disappears. It's that simple.

Irish speakers, I have done my best, and worked with a translator, but I definitely missed a few strings when I sent them to her. Know that I am continuing to try and improve it, and if you see some Irish that could be better, please do point it out. It's important to me that it's good.

Hey so did you know that you can do your job and also not be awful about it? Showing an ounce of empathy is actually not counter to the requirement of any job. Except maybe clampers.
Quote from Washington Times editorial board "[Radical liberals] don't realize that, when they express contempt for the man who holds the country's highest office, they reveal their contempt for the Americans who put him there."
Uh no...we definitely realize it.
Friends, I'm working on allowing people to access PayGap.ie in Irish. I'm close to finished on the code work needed to support translatable strings everywhere, and will do my best at a first pass of the translations too, but if there's any Irish speakers willing to give it a look, let me know!
Bought a thing for the husband. He's only delighted.
Remember when it was nice out yesterday for a little bit? That was nice, wasn't it?
If you are interested in any or all of the above, I'd simply love to see some friendly faces in the audience, and maybe a softball question or two (lol).
And on March 11th, I'll be at TUD's Grangegorman campus. Tickets also free for this one, but again, do register in advance.

On the 10th of March, I'll be at the Women In STEM summit. Tickets.... very much not free, but it does look like an absolutely stellar agenda!

First up, for WCI Tallaght, I'll be in Rua Red on March 4th. Tickets are free but moving quickly so do grab one! www.eventbrite.ie/e/gender-equ...
Ok, if you'd like to hear me chat about pay gap stuff, activism, my own career in tech, and related topics, I'm already booked for several events in March around #IWD. I'll share them below, and if you're coming to one or more, please do come and say hi!
Actually realising this has been really important for my self care and mental health. I find myself in the doldrums and have to remind myself it's not true, and also check for other pre-migraine symptoms and prep for potential unwell times.
Here's a lesser talked about migraine symptom for you - last night a migraine bit me hard, and it's still lingering today. And I'm feeling depressed. It took me years to realise that migraines absolutely torpedo my mood. Before, during, and after.
Sorry, is it actually ok outside today? Like, you could even go for a little walk?
The "motherhood penalty" is not an inevitable thing. It's a policy outcome. It's a choice we (our government) made and continue to make.

Padel courts are the new donut shops in Dublin.
Thanks for the single corner named after two women I guess. Paying them more wasn't an option, no?
I'm doing more data enrichment for PayGap.ie so that I can add some basic level location data and then maybe map our pay gap data. So let me take this moment to whinge into the universe that it is a SCANDAL that there is no publicly available, downloadable database of eircodes without paying.
The office gallery wall is coming along quite nicely really. (Gaps are intentional, for more things to come)
Genuinely exhausting. People with so so much privilege who absolutely crumble at the lightest criticism or comment.
