yelling that Trump is doing something "against the law" is meaningless if there are no consequences
yelling that Trump is doing something "against the law" is meaningless if there are no consequences
Trump would much rather have you talking about a Vanity Fair article than the decades he spent sexually assaulting little girls w/Jeffrey Epstein or all the money he launders for the Russian mob. Remember that and react accordingly. Heβs adept at media manipulation & distraction.
The biggest divide is not between βrightβ and βleft." Itβs between democracy and oligarchy. The billionaires who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us. They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see that they have all the wealth and power.
There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
There is only one reason Trump directed Bondi to investigate specific names in the Epstein files.
Itβs so the DOJ can stonewall growing calls for their full release.
Not long ago, the DOJ declared there was nothing to investigate.
You are witness to the most blatant coverup in American history.
I just donβt see how we can pretend even for a moment that anything involving our federal government is remotely normal when the president is covering up his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Like, what are we doing here
This is a statement I received from a Epstein survivor who is a Jane Doe.
Share it widely.
Voters want a Democratic Party that fights back against the forces that have rigged the system and made their lives more difficult.
A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable βnot a party that buckles and capitulates.
When will party leadership learn this lesson?
This is the message of a failed, feckless, and leaderless party. We need a party with backbone, and the only path to it is through a cleansing primary season. If your Dem is up for reelection, and you aren't damn sure they're fighting the fascists with everything they've got, primary the bastard.
Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you canβt lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?
80% of Democratic voters want a new leader in the Senate.
Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?
The people showed up in the streets for "No Kings."
They did their part.
The people showed up at the polls on Tuesday.
They did their part.
8 Democrats in the Senate surrendered last night.
They did not do their part.
Time for @chrismurphyct.bsky.social to replace @schumer.senate.gov
Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".
But there is no "normal". Submission emboldens the tyrant. The threat grows.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
I yearn for a political party where not endorsing Mamdani while praising Dick Cheney gets you automatically booted out
I do think yesterdayβs results reinforced the dynamic that while much of the American leadership class is chickenshit, most of the electorate is not
In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.
Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now itβs collapsing.
one of the most deeply infuriating aspects of american politics is close to half of americans would love if 20% of the country starved to death
While Republicans continue their ruthless and unprecedented mid-decade radical gerrymander in multiple states to hang on to power, Democrats outside CA continue to wring their hands and dither, seeking excuses for inaction like Merrick Garland reading FBI reports about J6.
When this is all said and done, and this presidency is over, people need to go to jail, no questions, no debates, no drawn-out hearings⦠to jail, for the atrocities caused to the American people.
itβs wild that this is just sort of the most openly corrupt administration of all time and theyβre just allowed to do that and most media doesnβt say a word about it
Our military is being paid by an anonymous donor.
Our WH East Wing was demolished for a ballroom - paid for by donors.
These arenβt acts of benevolence or patriotism.
This is the oligarchy assuming control, insidiously becoming part of how we function.
Every American should reject it.
Yβall out here making fun of Trump for saying Canada βcheated on a commercialβ forgetting the man is an expert on cheating. He cheated on his exams, taxes, wives, elections, economic data, and now heβs cheating everyone who ever sacrificed on behalf of USA out of a democracy.
So the billionaire president with the billionaire cabinet supported by billionaires gives tax cuts an sweetheart deals to billionaires and tears down the White House to build a billionaire ballroom while making food and healthcare unaffordable for everyone else? And half America is ok with that?
Surprise!
christ almighty what is this guy doing
www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Honestly I think they could just keep demolishing the White House bit by bit until it was completely gone and no one would even stop them
