text from a Twitter post reads "A friend left a party at 9:30 on a Saturday. Not tired. Not sick. He wanted to get back to his agents. Nobody questions it anymore. Half the room is thinking the same thing. The other half are probably checking the progress of their agents. At a party. All the parties are sober now. Young people don't drink because they're going back to work after. Not inspired by Bryan Johnson, although that's probably a factor. The buzz they want now runs on tokens per day."
obsessed with this. literally I went to a party with a bunch of freaks and losers and everyone knew me. any party so awful it inspires you to linkedInpost about AI on twitter is a party that you should never have RSVPd for. carthago delenda est

this dude helping his bro pick up his stick should be highlight of the night but our bloodthirsty sports media only feeds us conflict
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia style: "The Gang Demolishes the White House"
Image of the mechanical ladder outside the Louvre Text below says WENN'S MAL WIEDER SCHNELL GEHEN MUSS (When you need to move fast) Underneath is more German text which translates as "The Böcker Agilo transports your treasures weighing up to 400kg at 42m/min - quiet as a whisper."
The German company that makes the mechanical ladder used in the Louvre heist has used the image to advertise, with the text 'When you need to move fast'

It's starting to feel like our current generation of "smart" products need to replace "smart" with "vulnerable". The recent AWS downtime hits that home more than ever.
Call me bonkers, but I like my coffee mugs, shirts and beds dumb.
Tinted glass setting
This new option (in iOS 26.1 beta 4) is dramatically better for everything and should be the default.
lol yikes
"...the team describes how it performed a broad scan of IP traffic on 39 GEO satellites across 25 distinct longitudes and found that half of the signals they picked up contained cleartext [not encrypted] IP traffic."

My take codepen.io/thebabydino/...
Changes:
✨ `grid` + `position: sticky` instead of `position: absolute` to position lateral sideways links
✨ `writing-mode` instead of `transform` for these links to simplify positioning
✨ `clamp()` values instead of MQs ⇒ smooth changes instead of abrupt
#CSS
I dug into progressive image rendering and found a bunch of common assumptions aren't quite true.
➡️ JPEG & WebP progressive-renders worse in Safari
➡️ AVIF _does_ support progressive
➡️ But JPEG XL in Safari doesn't
➡️ JPEG XL decodes much slower than AVIF

progressive css-only pagination indicators w/ anchor positioning 👨🍳
nav::before { position-anchor: --h; }
nav::before { left: anchor(left); }
a:hover { anchor-name: --h; }
use the nav pseudoelements, ::before for intent, ::after for current 🤙

TIL: the scroll-margin CSS property.
If you have a sticky header and are annoyed that when you click an anchor it goes under the header, you want a scroll-margin. Setting, e.g., scroll-margin-top: 150px will scroll to 150px below where it would have.

fun fact: when you rebuild a website you don’t need to rebuild it in the same way
you can do different fun things
Okay I might be going in a completely different direction now, how fun is this?!
🏗️ WIP
Created with CSS scroll driven animations, special shout out to color-mix too, that function has given me so much joy working with dynamic colors 🫶
Hahaha. All conference speakers need this.
Fuck apps - build websites.

Jasper Johns, Flag, 154-55, encaustic, oil, and collage on fabric mounted on plywood, three panels. Shown on display at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art), New York. A museumgoer is standing with their back to the photographer, examining the painting up close. The visitor has a camera slung over their shoulder. Their dark hair is styled in dreadlocks. They wear black skinny jeans and black dress boots.
Stop calling MAGA “conservative.” Actual conservatives believe in limited government, the rule of law, separation of powers, states’ rights, and the Constitution. 1/3
