Bill and Tedβs Excellent Adventure (1989)
Several years ago I saw a documentary about nomadic people in Mongolia, but I couldnβt find it. Thus Iβm cheating and going with Bill and Ted and Genghis Khan

#Bales2026moviechallenge - botany
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
The young wizards learn about mandrakes in botany class (Nevilleβs favorite subject). Their scream will kill you, but they are also used to cure petrification.

Such a cool piece of trivia
Seriously? Of all my friends I know you will love it the way I do. Please see it today Michael. Itβs one of the most aptly named movies Iβve ever seen. A truly beautiful thing. A glimpse of life of poorer class London in the 90s and it has a mama cass soundtrack that is used perfectly.
#Bales2026MovieChallenge - a toilet
Trainspotting (1996)
A title card calls it βthe worst toilet in Scotlandβ in the famous surreal, funny and stylized scene. Itβs revolting, but also one of the most iconic scenes in 90s cinema.
#MarchMovieChallenge - parents of an lgbtq character

#MarchMovieChallenge - goes to a concert
Queen of the Damned (2002)
I like the 3rd interview with a vampire novel where Lestat gets to be a rock star and we finally get origin answers. The movie though deserves its 17 rotten tomatoes score. I still love Aaliyah (RIP)

#Bales2026moviechallenge - nuclear war
Wizards (1977)
Before Bakshi did the Lord of the Rings he wrote, directed and produced this darker, more twisted inspired by LOTR story of magic vs technology in a world devastated by nuclear war.
And Agatha Christie still holds up well.
She was amazing in that role
#FebruaryMovieChallenge - favorite John candy film
Planes Trains and Automobiles (1987)
I always like John Candy. The man was eminently likable. But his opus magnum is this film. Del Griffith (shower curtain ring guy) can move us emotionally with a single glance.

#Bales2026MovieChallenge - a pandemic
What's So Bad About Feeling Good? (1968)
A pandemic where the virus causes people to be happy and euphoric. It doesnβt completely work but Mary Tyler Moore makes any film better.
So glad I read this. I completely agree with you
#Bales2026MovieChallenge - deaf or blind
Mr Magooβs Christmas Carol (1962)
I like Jim Backusβs Mr Magoo as Scrooge. It really works. And the cool songs and cozy feel helped make this an annual watch for me as a child.
#MarchMovieChallenge - national anthem
Cars (2006)
The electric guitar awesome Jimmie Hendrix version of the star spangled banner plays in the opening Piston Cup race scene.Β
