I just got home and it was a great day out. I got to talk to all my favourite youtubers, see the INDX in person and have a lovely chat with Dom.

I am about to get on a train, but going back tonight. Shame I won't see you @alex.edumaker.net . I also have a week off work so we should chat about printers soon. Hope to see you later @mobiledom.bsky.social
I don't use Facebook and have no idea who Chris is and don't sell or make anything so don't really care
Hmmm... I need help from the BlueSky hive mind.
The next phase of Beast development is going to cost for prototyping and dev kits. There's some interesting stuff planned, but I can't afford to push it forward.
Selling MicroBeasts helps, though sales are hard in the current economic environment. ๐งต
A super advanced C64 analyser cartridge.
And a brand new Commodore Repair Toolbox resource.
My life just got so much easier!
I am very happy with the snapmaker U1. The included filament is also great. Pika Pika
Project Hail Mary is one of the best science-forward movies Iโve ever seen. Maybe the best. Some inaccuracies/hand-waving here and there, but the spirit of discovery and problem solving shines through in a gorgeous, funny, practical effects-driven epic.
I can't wait to see this. The book was fantastic and the audio book is even better !
It's made a big difference for me and the proper one should be even better
it's very good ! I made a top cover with a filter for mine to cut down on noise and reduce smell as I am printing in a small room.
Which is the best desoldering tool for hobby level retro repairs?
I probably answer this and other questions like does a ZX Spectrum scream if you rip out it's chips?
On a negative point, I have woken up with my hearing all messed up and I can't pop my ears. it's like I have a lofi filter on my good ear and my head is in a bucket.
A trip to the recycling center to drop stuff off. check
Car wash . Check
Food shipping. Check
Now back at the workshop to continue the never ending tidy up.
At least a few larger items have sold and will be out of the workshop today.
I did a quick print with the new settings and I am a lot happier with the noise, also I will be working on a DIY top for the U1 with this 50l part I found on amazon.
it's been quite the adventure to get to this point.
The screw close to the spring will tighten, but the other screw will not fully tighten, however the belt was held in place. It is a lot better after the tweaking
I checked that from the snapmaker guide but will re watch your video
I had to cut back on the speeds and feeds of the U1 especially on the Z hop and travel as it caused an very annoying BONK sound over and over. Thankfully Snapmaker had a guide to reduce the BONK and it has worked perfectly on a quick test.
I like how the U1 is fine with no user account and works over the local network using Orca slicer and I can open the controls via a webpage just like my other Klipper printers. So would choose that over Bambu. Still think the bambu are great printers and I can see a lot of bambu in this machine.
it prints in just over two hours, I compared it against my P1P with AMS. 16 hrs with 212g of poop and 33g prime tower.
the U1 printed the included dragon without any issues, but then that is to be expected.
And we are printing
Calibrating !
My @snapmaker.bsky.social U1 arrived and I can't wait to get it set up and #3dprinting ( well as soon as I make some room it's slightly bigger than the last one I was using at home)
it's always nice to see a older project computer go to a new home so it can bring joy to someone else :)
almost 300gb of recorded video !
Are you going to smrrf next month ? I have tickets.
that's not a bad price compared to the others we have seen before. Like Alex said the shredder could be lacking on power for anything bigger than purge.
it does say for purge waste so I wonder if that was the design from the start. I expect Bambu to have something soon as they are the king of printer poop.
hi @alex.edumaker.net have you seen this filament maker system from Creality ?
