Grey Heron reach peak Good Looks at the moment they mate. As the chicks are born, and the hard work of filling them up with Fish Gloop starts, looks take a backseat.

A most positive sign!

A great blue heron braces itself against the wind while perched on a fishing pier in Longmont, Colorado. In this vertical color photograph, the heron’s upper body, neck, and head fill the frame. Across the pond, blurred brown and yellow vegetation creates a soft, muted backdrop. Gusts of wind lift the feathers along its body and sweep the plumes on its head upward and back, giving the bird a wild, electrified appearance. Yesterday this beautiful great blue heron permitted me to take its picture at one of my favorite parks.

I have walked plenty recently, but haven’t taken many pictures in over a month. It felt great to take pictures!

This morning the beautiful white heron was floating along above the water then into the sky of this the one world we all belong to where everything sooner or later is a part of everything else which thought made me feel for a little while quite beautiful myself. Mary Oliver
